Palabok is rice noodles with meat and some sauce, the sauce is a bit on the salty side, which is why you eat it by squeezing a calamansi on top of it before you mix the sauce with the rice noodles.

Also, the quality of the gravy is quite not equal to local versions if you're gonna get it from outside of the Philippines, don't ask for gravy.

When you accept the fact that people have different taste and preference when it comes to food you can understand the criticism. As a picky eater myself i would say that in some filipino food you must have acquired taste.😅

Well, to be fair with kenji, he probably didn't grew up with this fast food probably. Also, it's actually better to eat it in the Philippines, just be careful if its a franchise or a branch, if it's a branch, you'll get better food quality.
