Lauren Mae did a video, like 2 years ago, where it was just. Close up for her makeup and hands, working so steady with a scraper and tape, getting all the hard pan off all her palettes, and it’s forever a favorite. It was so satisfying.

I went from being a Sephora Rouge for well over 10 years, to spending a grand total of $75 at Sephora last year. They’ve taken away all my favorite brands or either just sell a tiny subset of their products, replacing excellent products with ‘clean’ brands which we fully know is a scam, or celebrity brands that don’t interest me. I wanted nothing from clean brands when I realized that my products would go bad faster than I could use them… all that money for rancid ingredients. ENOUGH. I’m quite happy to now purchase directly from Viseart, PMG, YSL, Perricone MD, Indeed Labs, and anything else I can just pick up at Ulta. And honestly, drugstore is really getting just as good as premium brands. My foundation used to be Dior, now it’s Cover Girl simply ageless which to me is a dupe of Dior Backstage. For $10. I’ve found several other dupes for premium products in drugstore. They’re gonna have to work harder to impress me. I pretty much proved I didn’t need Sephora in my life anymore. I’m totally fine with it.
Yes! And aside from this now that points expire and brands do their own better sales without all the weird customer service hassle and department stores have more of what Sephora used to carry it’s just like why.

The packaging that bugs me the most is any Sisley product in the zebra stripe packaging with hot pink font! It is so hideous. It’s supposed to be so luxurious but it looks like Claire’s. Even if Sisley was in my price range, I would not buy it.

As someone how is about 2/3 shades light than you I’m very glad the Gucci cushion foundation is so fair as far as I can see shade 2 is actually the first shade in the line but I am normally having to mix white foundation into all my foundations I might check this out

I've been using the lightest bronzer shade from phytosurgence to adjust the temperature under my eyes & it has made such a huge difference. It's great because I don't like a lot of powder under my eyes.
The way you feel about the Gucci is how I feel about Shiseido Synchro Skin. Always pasty, no matter the shade or how little I apply…feels like a mask and looks crazy in photos. OMG, maybe it’s the sunscreen! 🤯 Thank you for solving the mystery.
Omg I have to share this with you. As you first started talking about the new laura mercier powder and raving about it, I literally opened up sephora and was about to put in on my wish list for later - then in real time you said you wouldn't recommend it for oily skin. I heard in my head the wa-wa sound and took it back out. lololololol

The InnBeauty lip oils are the best lip oil/gloss/balms I’ve ever tried, but I’ve only tried the milky shades cookie and cinnamon bun. They are so buttery and nourishing and stick around so long. Also I hate the Patrick Ta blush packaging! It’s hard to open, let alone someone with dexterity issues! And it gets all smudgy if you even look at it.

the persona eye paints are gamechangers but you have to move quickly and no more than 2 layers max. but I've worn the bronze and the pink with Lisa Eldridge's new liquid liner and the Kulfi eyeliner without issue and it lasted ALL DAY.
Hi Kackie, Bobbi Brown (the company) reformulated their bronzers three months ago and apparently nobody has been interested in reviewing them. Any idea why? I had to try them in store and the shades are to die for, including 4 different golden shades! Great new formula as well.
i just wanted to make sure you saw the YSL candy glaze duo of two full sizes (clear and the sheer nude color) for $55 that basically ends up as a twofer on the sephora sale. i know you don't usually check comments this late but since you are a pusherman and got me onto that damned expensive gloss...needed to make sure you knew :)
The Givenchy, I figured out what it is... it's like putting a really lovely hand cream... on your lips. It *tastes* like fancy hand cream. And I hate that because the formula is so lovely.

thought id try the YSL bronzers but im very confused by the shades, not too sure of the undertone on 2 but 1 is def too light. I ended up just repurchasing the haus one and a mini of the 'new' nars talc free instead.

the internal layout of a product usually doesn't bother me, but I absolutely cannot handle when the external component is a different size or shape than the other relevant products in a line. Like how the Rose Inc bronzer is huge and in a different package than their blushes when they easily (and definitely more cost effectively) could have just used the same component in a different color. Same with Refy, like what??? I'd rather just have less bronzer so that the packaging can match.
Okay, while this clearly doesn't bug me because if it did I wouldn't sleep at all because I have so much makeup, I have two friends I won't name (it's Steph and Nicolette) who are concerned about buying a lip product and it being lonely in their collection. When they buy a lip product they almost always have to buy two so it has a friend.

Re: packaging woes … HOLY MOLY I have never been so shocked and appalled as when the iNNBEAUTY PROJECT Bronze Face Glaze nozzle tip just completely tore off one day. I don’t even know when/how it happened, it was just suddenly oozing everywhere uncontrollably. The Sephora comments warned of this and I didn’t believe it. Lesson learned.
