In today's Thailand travel vlog, we leave our hotel to sample some interesting and unexpected Thai street food at the Saturday Night Market in Chiang Rai.
The market exploded with people dancing, enjoying dinner, and catching up with friends as we shuffled through the isles, trying to decide what we wanted to eat for the evening.
Ashley opted for Thai sweet potato balls while Mike found a vendor selling fried pork with a savory sauce. Both snacks were delicious, so we continued until we found kanom tang Thai (cantaloupe cakes) and khao kriap pak mor.
Afterward, Mike surprised Ashley with a delicious chocolate-covered marshmallow and the tiniest scoop of ice cream before geeking out over anime and comic books.
As the crowds dwindled, we decided to try grilled jellyfish before heading back to our hotel for the night. It was different than either of us expected, and one of us preferred it more than the other. 😝
