Trying on EVERY Dress in my Vintage Wardrobe

Don't worry about the "Goals Dresses" not fitting quite right. weight is not important, what is important is that you fuel yourself in a way that keeps you happy and healthy. I honestly prefer the dresses from the older years to dresses we have now. They are so beautiful and have basic but flattering designs. I loved every single dress in your wardrobe! I hope we can get more videos like this in the future ❤

Hi, just some friendly tips. I lived through the 50s, 60s, and 70s, so on. Anything with a waist and gathered is before the 60s. The dress you showed with the long darts at the waist and high bodice in dark green is early 60s. After mid 60s it was higher hem, a lines or high- waisted. Jackie Kennedy suits were popular (Chanel style). Also the twiggy look with Peter Pan collars or turtleneck sweaters with slim skirts. Back to gathers skirts, think Grease the movie, set in the late 50s.

Oh my! I didn’t realize, you had that many dresses! But I guess, it makes sense, if dresses is what you mainly wear. I can’t even decide, which one is my favorite. I love the ones, with really bold, extravagant fabric, but some of the vintage ones also looked so very nice on you. Your remodeled bedroom makes for a nice backdrop now, btw. It’s kinda neutral, with the white doors and wall, but has some vintage-y/decorative elements on the sides. Works very well for me as a viewer 👍

Thank you for sharing your lovely collection! I also collection vintage clothing. The unique and fun details of vintage garments always amaze me, not to mention the superb craftsmanship.

I think a "goal dress" or a certain clothing fit is much healthier than focusing on numbers. BMI charts are useful as general guides for healthcare workers, but don't account for everyone's individual body type, bone to muscle to fat ratios and so on. Given your goal dress is pretty close to fitting, it's probably a very safe and healthy way to measure your progress and will help you avoid getting side tracked by what the scale says. Sometimes we can technically gain 2lbs of water weight while losing two inches on our waist; so I think it' better to look at it from the perspective of how one's current body shape relates back to an un-changing real world object.

I have literally see NOBODY wear that Hell Bunny sailor dress In real life and only had approximate length measurements to go off of. I'm so glad it fits you! I was so hesitant about the length because I WILL NOT wear skirts higher than knee length often enough to justify buying them, but Sailor Moon kicked off a sailor themed obsession. I may be inspired to purchase it now

Dark reds and navy blues/greyish blues look so good on you, I'm amazed. Also, 100% yes to the puppies in baskets, that is so adorable :)

Gosh! A dress for every day of the year! Many dresses brought back such wonderful memories of the vintage outfits I wore in the 80s and 90s. Wonderful collection. Your own makes are Slam'n. When I found dresses a touch tattered, I would cut them up and copy them. Feel confident, you are young and beautiful and perfect 😚

I think the basque waist dress is stunning, I haven't seen that style in a casual dress before and it's gorgeous.

The little white dress with red polka dots and red piping that you said was 6 inches too short would look so cute with a ruffle at the bottom if you could match the red... I know exactly what a task that would be - matching the reds. Just an idea

I am pretty sure the one at 21:14 is a 1980s bridesmaid dress. I do realize that you just made it yourself only a little while ago using a completely unique design you made up out of nothing, but this is a 1980s bridesmaid dress that was just chilling in the ether, waiting for someone to come along and give it life. All it needs is a shiny sash that closes at the back in a ginormous buttbow. Well, and the hair. But this is a good thing to me. My style preferences are probably best described as 'aggressively tacky', and this is the BEST. EVER.

I’ve owned some of the dresses you have. The gray slim one with the square neckline from Forever 21? A clone of the dress I wore to HS graduation in 1960. My mother wore the little cotton dresses of the late forties and Fifties, every single day, a few you have might have been worn to do the shopping, but women wore a smart little frock at home, even to do the drudgery. They wouldn’t have been caught dead looking the way we do much of the time. Do enjoy them!

The olive wooly dress, the mint cotton one, and the first "navy" style one were my favourites. Cinched waist and under bust darts suits you so well! Don't worry about the weight gain (35 lbs in 4 months for me 🙁) As long as you are healthy, it's just numbers. Love your work Angela, you are a great inspiration xxx

The first and second white/red “nurse” dresses are by far my favorite!! Would you consider putting a red addition to the bottom of the red/white dress that is too short? The polkadot phase of your wardrobe; can a person ever have too many polkadots in their life? I think not. However, I also adore the neckline lace details on many of your daily wardrobe items. I am crazy about the blue dress with soutache details, though. This was really fun. I just walked into my closet and started looking at details in the clothing I currently own. Real tears! It all came flooding back, subtle details that echo historic aspects of garment detail and cut from Edwardian forward. Back in the day I was a costume mistress in an opera house and quite often would dress in vintage clothing when it was not a popular practice. Angela, I think your video has awakened something within me from a long slumber. This weekend I shall begin my search for one vintage article of clothing I cannot live without. (Who am I kidding? Loved all the dresses! And trust me, the dresses from the 69's are not short A test to see if they were too short was to put your arm down your side and if the dress was shorter than you middle finger it was too short. You looked beautiful in all the dresses.

My goodness! There's so much you dont feel comfortable in, but LOOK AMAZING in. Esp the dress with navy stitching and belt and a few others you find "too small". I get not being physically comfortable (mobility) but a few looked like they fit just fine with some room!
