You're an awesome designer! Which came first, knitting English style, or crocheting (which is basically the Continental yarn hold)? I have crocheted for years.. attempted to learn knitting a couple of times and failed because I always had different sources and they were short and sweet, never completed anything. When I got the bug again to knit , whenever I would pick it up and try again, I was dazed and confused. I had to seek some source and it was always a different one. Took me years* to figure out there're 'bout a "hunnert" different ways to knit! Since I didn't ever have a good hold on it, I had no idea other than two different cast ons that would sometimes come to memory once I got the yarn and a stick in my hand - that I didn't even realize were different cast ons until I'd watched a gazillion videos on RU-vid when it finally came around. You can see why I was confused. I would start, and give up. Yeah I hope you really bet scene of video on except for maybe one or two and they must be pretty rare. I don't even know what the name of this knitting is, but it seems to be all Russian purling and then when you turn it all around to work the other side, you work the stitches behind the work doing purls, while the knit is facing you. It's like combination knitting but that sounded really complicated. But with each course, knitting this way changes the loops' leg orientation, switching from Eastern to Western knitting and back again with no thinking or eye strain involved. * I'm 62, learned crochet in '70, did not pick it up again until my early 20s 11 yrs later, I made some moccasins for my one-year-old, perfectly and without a pattern or any reference to an instruction book, so there're a lot of years in between when the knitting bug would hit.
