Sea fishing at a mark on the Kent coast that I've not visited before, definitely an interesting spot and one that seems to be only frequented by a few locals now! Do you recognise it and have you fished here?
Great video. I have fished that mark with little success but am told it can throw up big bass at night. I tend to fish round the corner to your left which is dumpton gap. Had some nice bass early morning and sunset to big worm baits. Snaggy but you need to keep in the channels which is clean ground. Cast out no more than 15/20 yards. Hi mate, thank you, video and audio quality were a big thing I wanted to get right so I use a DJI OSMO pocket 3 in this video along with a DJI mic, for my POV videos I will be using a DJI osmo action 4. There are some lovely places here in Kent so if you can get an opportunity to try it you should!
It’s one I will definitely be returning to, I’ve heard more stuff since the video from some locals who fish it and found out some interesting species do come up there!
Weird fishing along that part of the coast much is from erosion over the years of the chalk cliffs, so your fishing into old chalk/flint rocks at varying distances as you saw Some places will have clear spots close in/far out or bays then others just mixed while others just "Hell". Plus will change with weather/tides/storms etc as you can fish today but tomorrow is like dragging your leads through a scrap heap pile as get scoured out. I fish Broadstairs when there that changes constantly sand gets pushed in then get's pulled out leaving sea bed looking like the Somme! cast a plain lead on braid even that was getting snagged!. Hounds will be along soon!. Thing that messed so much around there was the dredging they raped the Goodwin sands and the Thames for Container port so tide flow will pull sand back from anywhere it can and it has at Shoebury ness for one all the foreshore got washed away few years back plus other places also and they shut the beach as guns and munitions was getting exposed. Plus hope you picked your wrappers up!
Yeah it’s definitely challenging fishing over that sort of ground being very mixed and as you say capable of changing over tides. I’ve fished minnis bay a couple of times and as you will know being in that area that can be a real headache depending where you decide to try. And I was always taught leave only footprints, take only photos and keep only memories. So wherever I fish you’d never know, it’s a real gripe of mine seeing anglers leave rubbish even down to small line clippings.
