A couple of things I'd like to say about this: 1) I'm glad you're opting to do some reviews and don't be afraid to do sponsorship ads within your videos. RU-vid's algorithms are killing so many channels, everyone understands the need to make money where the monetizing elements of RU-vid have gone down the toilet. 2) All bikes can do 30mph. I used to ride a LOT, one job called for 16kms ride to work, half of every hour spent riding patrols of a large site and 16kms home again. I used to ride with traffic in 60kmh or roughly 40mph traffic under my own power. It's why I find e-bike regulations to be absurd. You're not wrong about a helmet though. I hit a pole on my bike doing around 30mph and wrapped around it like Wyle E Coyote and it hurt like hell and I got a little banged up. Without a helmet, it would have been straight up concussion. 3) I didn't know you were a retired Police Officer. I have even more respect for you and love for your vids now. That's a ballsy, nerves of steel duty to have. My respects.
Looks fun. Nice camera work. Senada chose well with you as someone to try out the bike and talk about it. ebikes are increasingly popular. I dont know much about them, but the prepper element is what originally piqued my interest. I just haven't sprung for one yet because Im not there yet. But I know I like the wide tires and higher weight capacity like this bike has (I'm heavier plus wiggle room for gear). The longer range on a charge is important too. Now I can add this brand as a contender. Thanks!
Awesome! They make several interesting bikes including a step-through that is comfortable for people who might not want to be so high off the ground. Lots of great options.
Didn’t know you were former LEO. Bet you were a cool cop. ‘Hey, sir…I’ll let you off with a warning on going 57 in a 40 if I can have a look inside your lunchbox. Purely voluntary, of course. I’m not looking for contraband. Just ideas’.
As someone who rips around my property on a dirt bike I just recently tried one of these out and was surprised how quick they can be. I definitely feel more stable and comfortable on my dirt bike but that e-bike is kind of fun just putzing around.
I think there’s a lot to be said for the stability from the weight of a motorbike when it comes to having that kind of power and speed. But this thing sure is fun.
I bought two eBikes from a different manufacturer for me and my wife. They fold up and they fit it nicely in our mini van and can be the perfect “go around the traffic jam” during a bug out scenario. 😊
Surprised the manufacturers don't have a solar charger integrated on the battery. Having to go from panels to solar "generator" to battery there will be more efficiency loss then if you could go straight from panels to charge controller on battery. Plus that cut down drastically on weight for those who would want to solar charge while out on trail. Maybe something the manufacturer should consider. Also having been a gear head for decades I will affirm that best brakes are very important. ✌️
Thank you for sharing this info. We have been looking at E-Bikes for some time I do believe this particular bike would fill that want. I will do further research, due to the fact that I am 6' 4" tall, most bikes are not a good fit. Keep doing what you are doing, the Wife & I enjoy your vids, packed with useful mods. See you on the trail.
Thank you so much. I will add that I cut off two inches from the seat post so I could sit more comfortably. It’s designed to be a bike for taller people. With the seat up higher it would probably work better for you. Those 26 inch tires make for a pretty tall setup.
Here's something weird. I used to ride a Harley. Have been on a highway at 75 mph. BUT, the first time I was on my stepson's Ebike, I was terrified of going 5 mph. Have been considering one anyway, and reviews like this really help.
Man 30mph on a bike is terrifyingly fast. I would think this kind of bike would also be great for van life or people who do a lot of boon-docking out in the middle of the woods. It would be a lot of fun just riding it around it would be nice to be able to charge it and great in case of when the vehicle won't start or can't be driven.
That I can’t say. Most e-bikes have their issues so joining a social media group for the product you’re interested in is a great way to get a feel for it.
So what is that box? For on the bottom of the down tube near the crank. Also when is the last time you saw a ten speed bike. My parents had a couple they donated to a thrift store from the 80's they got when they bought a bunch of furniture.
That is the controller that runs the brains of the bike and tells it what to do. About the only people I see on multi-speed bikes anymore are the hardcore riders
Had a friend in maintenance at work that bought an electric rear wheel and battery for his bike from China. It came with a speedometer. We got that thing going about 47 mph at work in the parking lot at night. He got fired for screwing around at work building bikes and such
You definitely need to find a shop that will work on e-bikes. The brakes are easy like any other bike. Batteries are where the bulk of your expense is.
@@dadbudgetadventures Heh I did watch a ton of video on regular vs electric bikes sadly most electric are far out of my price range so regular won that battle. Plus i think I'd be to tempted to just not pedal all with the electric and i need the exercise.
These aren’t too bad in price compared to many I’ve looked at. It is an investment though. Gotta develop the discipline to be sure those legs are pumping because it can be so fun just cruising.
