Campbell’s soup is condensed and has to be mixed with water or milk as opposed to eating it out of the can. Also, I try to avoid adding heavy cans of food if I have other options. I’m not against it, it’s just not what comes to mind when I’m building my MREs.
Bone broth is good when you dont feel good, like if comming down with a cold or if you get chilled at work. ( like if you get soaked walking accrost the parking lot and cant get home do to weather.)
Vegetarian is vheaper and easily maded shelf stable compared to meat and dairy, because you dont have the spoilage rate of animal protein and generally less fat.
Also mini cans of vegetables and fruit com in low sodium. You may have to go to a bigger supermarket to get it. Like a large kroger or a super Walmart.
I don’t know that I’d say they are random. There’s usually some kind of reason for the particular contents. Sometimes it makes as much sense as a school lunch menu but it’s often about the calories or other nutrient content.
At the time of my watching this coincidentally when you said you heard thunder I freaked out because a storm was coming to my area right before you said you heard it 10:04
Yup…t-shirt….XL. Another great video. What may not be understood….YOU…are answering FEMA recommendations! Yeah…that’s right. Hurricane Katrina….the blizzards in Texas…Super Storm Sandy….this stuff happens. Your channel…entertaining…yeah…it’s fun…BUT YOURE ON TARGET SIR…this nation has a huge population of folks woefully ill prepared. I think your home made MRE channel…hands down…THE BEST
That's a nice thing you're doing for Joey. Thanks for giving us an opportunity to help! If I can suggest another item for his wish list, I think a transistor radio with batteries is a necessity for a bugout / get home bag. In disasters, radio stations are vital for getting information out to the public. An AM/FM/Weather radio is what I usually recommend. (Some come with rechargeable batteries and even a hand crank generator that can recharge a phone.)
@@dadbudgetadventures Good choice! The NY State Citizen Preparedness Corps put radios in the disaster preparedness kits they give out at their training sessions.
Idea: you could make a playlist of your MREs that are based around red beans & rice. Many cuisines all have beans & rice. High in protein, and easy to mix other items in with it or as sides. Your idea for helping your friend build his get home bag is excellent.
Another merch itemto ponder on is... A magnet that has the 'rules' and any extras,i.e. codiments, spork, napkin, honey, gum, mint, etc. You know those little extras that might come in handy.
DBA merch would be fun. T-shirts and hats are a great standard, maybe a small pouch with some camping utensils to put in a back pack or bug out bag could be a great addition to your store.
I enjoy and support your channel, but I have no interest in merch. No offense. I don't buy merchandise from any business, team, entertainer, etc. I'm sure many people who love merchandise will be happy to buy yours. Best wishes, my friend.
Great video! If you had any kind of ginger tea as your beverage, and add that pickle brine, and the honey, you'd almost have Switchel, or Haymaker's Punch, and would certainly help with rehydration.
Comment 1: For people of your age and mine; Bacon, sausage, egg, wedge potato,lard(fry-bake-whatever with : duck fat!NO oil BS !), red-black -white- brown; beans of choice/wheat or rice cracker/cheese/beer/and whiskey! Maybe peanut/cashew/raisan/dates/figs/oats/semi-sweet chocolate chips, dehydrated banana chip=a trail mix as well! My Asian heritage says Rice/chicken/pork/shrimp/crab/lobster/eel/sea urchin, in soy sauce/maybe honey as well! Spice with salt(any), red pepper(any), black pepper(any), garlic, onion, add bamboo chute and dried seaweed as well for extra! DBA merch? Hell yeah! T-shirt: 85cotton-13 polyester-2 spandex or Lycra, ,with Teflon water proofing.. 6 or 7 pocket cargo shorts-slightly below the knee length :same material as T-shirt! Doo-rag/shemagh 90 cotton-10polyester .. That’s my style most days, unless I have business meetings, then well that’s a tailored suit, but that’s far outside of what I’d expect any too do! Luv much,DBA and family! Hope this help any idea, from Tokyo,Japan! Prepare for the world you live in, not the one you wish existed: perfect motto!
You should look into buy me a coffee then post the links. That is a affordable way for people to donate to your MRE's. Unlike other options out there like this platform... they only take 5%. Straight up gifts through this platform take 30%. Be super careful about sourcing a printing company. Sometimes the best bet is finding a local company that will print and ship on demand. Lots of bad products go out through the big online companies. That is why a local store front is way better. You will make more, the local biz is kept alive and the customer gets real quality.
Also I went to Adli the other day and they now have dark chocolate covered freeze dried strawberries and bananas. Not bad strawberries are #1, banana is not bad. I would get them again
Hello, I love your MRE shows. Being in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, I wish our MRE look like yours. I also would like a T-shirt with your motto. Helping Joey's with Wise Owl Outfitters Camping Towel. Have a Bless Day....
I always buy that chicken, and I use it to "enhance" Knorr Rice Sides, or Pasta Sides, or some other dish that needs something more than what's in it, like Top Ramen. I've also found you can cook up ramen without it's flavor packet, and add these Indian dish packets to the ramen, and it's pretty good.
Mark some other people are saying, I want your slogan on a t-shirt. I would also enjoy a hat with your caricature logo. I really like the idea of get home bag, I will go and check that out in a minute. Thank you for another wonderful video. Good luck in all that you do. I want to see some Bushcraft videos.
The hubby's idea: eat without heat. He would like to see you dive into an MRE without heating any of the food prior to eating. Looking for ideas on things that can be enjoyed "straight up." Shirts, hats, and stickers might be good starter items for merch.
