I think when you were in Sri Lanka there was no Covid. Now it has started. There are so many beautiful, important places to visit in this country, clean places to eat (Even for street foods). Even locals get sick after eating from dirty places.Mainly because food inspection is not happening properly and regularly. Some places shown here were terrific/very less hygiene. Guides also should think about.
I think they are smart enough to not go into a full fledged panic attack over this flurry of misinformation...or maybe I’m wrong and they are fighting to the death over toilet paper somewhere🤷🏻♀️
I visited Sri Lanka back in October for two weeks travelling around the island solo. Loved every minute of this beautiful country, you guys are going to have an awesome adventure. You must do the train journey from Kandy-Ella, one of my highlights of my trip. 👍🏻
OMG that has to be your best food tour ever. The guy seemed really on point and everyone was so friendly... I can't believe the quality of the rice every where and that paratha at the end was a real star. Thx for sharing 9.55 AM in the Uk and after that I am so hungry but I guess all the shops will be empty... hmm
Going back with the memories of Sri Lanka, thanks guys! Upload videos more often, because we are bored at home during quarantine :( Have a great time in Oman :)
You two are living your best lives! It's amazing seeing the world through you guys. I traveled to Sri Lanka in 2012, and it's a beauty country. I hope you're able to see the beaches in Trincomolee and the old capital city of Kandy. Plus the elephants, it's an incredible place. Luv you guys
The Kithul treacle [@ 4:05] used in the curd is made from the sap of the Kithul Palm tree. For centuries pure Kithul was used in ayurvedic remedies for a myriad of health benefits.
Yes Sri Lanka is said to be potentially the next Bali. A digital nomad Johnny FD is also staying there for a few months. Seems relatively safe from the coronavirus in the smaller villages.
True. Its onw of the better places to be to avoid Coeona. But as of date we have 8 confirmed cases 6 broughton through foreigners who were taken in for Quarantine and then developed symptoms
We are booked to spend three weeks in Sri Lanka at the end of April. We were so excited about going. Sadly, it now seems we won't be able to go because of all the travels bans in place due to the Coronavirus. We will have to live vicariously through your travel vlogs. Just keep washing those hands 😉.
Anna Mcarthur no corona victims found in Sri lanka yet. But there are some victims who already had the virus in there selves. They are in hospital now. Dont worry to travel here. Corona will go away when its april .
The videos you guys put out are always AMAZING!! I’m in love with the Sri Lanka series ♥️ I’m a bit biases ‘cause that’s my little island! 😍 Beautiful video!
Nice to see you enjoying our taste and we love your food too! It’s something that people like to try every single food in this world! ❤️ Food has no boundaries...

damn this hurts.... I was supposed to fly to sri lanka on Monday but my holiday got canceled due to corona :( I am so sad that Im not even able to watch this. Safed so much money for this trip and have been planning for so so sooo long!
Planning a long trip for this year, Sri Lanka has been on my radar for years and I can't wait to get there! These videos have given me so many ideas for Sri Lanka. Thansk to both of you for providing some really great and entertaining information. Sri Lanka, I'm coming!!!
Hello my fav couple on earth, Thanks for keeping updating fantastic videos. This definitely gave me flashbacks to my first overseas backpacking experience to Sri Lanka 6 years ago. Please take care during the outbreak!!! Love you guys.
Ghee is the main fat used for cooking on the Indian sub continent, if it is expensive in the US it is easy to make using unsalted butter, melting it , skimming off the milk solids then filtering through a warm paper coffee filter or fine mesh sieve. It can be used at higher temperatures than butter as it is the milk solids that burn but still gives the same flavour.
great vid. I must say you got lucky with your local guide. Most local guys that collaborate with foreign vloggers (dale, harald etc) just turn out to be useless and unsophisticated who will act more of a tourist than the actual tourist themselves in the video, but this guy seems to know his stuff. Kudos to him
best food to try in Sri Lanka if youre coming here - Kottu (theres chicken, egg, vegetarian, cheese and so on) , egg hoppers, pol roti, kokis (traditional sweetmeats) available mostly during months of march and april , ulundu vadai, achcharu (so good! mix of fruits of ur choice and spices), parippu vadai (parippu=dhal) , chickpeas mix (sold in small trucks in streets), pani appa (like honey hoppers) :P all of these are available almost everywhere!! these are mostly sri lankan street food and they are really good
You know, we all are eating all the food with our hands and when you are eating hands it's taste super really good and it taste more than eating spoons, the next time you will in the our country you have to try all the food with your hands. Thanks for visiting our country!!! (PEARL OF ASIA)
I'm Sri Lankan and I was their guide 😊 Yes I believe this region we have a lot in common. Dodo was probably introduced here by Malaysian Police who were brought I during the British period
Many Thanks...Great Video.....Stay Strong and Heathy.... Look after each other....Things are changing so fast around the world...Cheers and Best Wishes from Canada.
I have to say this is one of the best food tours I have seen you do. I lived in Birmingham for twenty five years and consequently love Indian food but this seems to be a whole new level of deliciousness! My mouth was watering throughout. You must explain though how you pace yourselves when you are on an organised food tour? Obviously this is spread over a good few hours but between dishes does the guide take you site seeing? Or is this from late afternoon until the evening meal? What would be the norm on such tours? I am looking forward to the exploration of Sri Lanka itself and then catching up with your current trip in the Middle East (?). The news is dominated by depressing Corvid 19 and so I was relieved to see this pop up. It has become a twice weekly treat for me to follow your adventures! Stay safe though! Things are getting a bit scary right now but I suspect you are probably safer on your travels than here in Europe and the UK!
I really love your videos, your civet all aspects of the countries you visit, and the foods that you get are fabulous. He desserts at the beginning looked rich and delicious haha, and also those hoppers are supposed to b really tasty. Thanks for another great video guys.
I literally just uploaded a video about Sri Lanka and your video popped up on my YT homepage. You can literally find anything to do there. Whale watching in the morning and some of the best tea I've ever had in the afternoon. I will absolutely be back this year!
We have proud Sri Lankn, Sinhala, Muslim,Tamil, Malay and English, Dutch, Portuguese mix people. We all United by cricket & rugby, food & drinks, music and films only.things have changed dramatically since Anthony Bourdain visit.
Hi, hope you're both keeping well. Thank you for the vid. Curry is a national dish here in the UK. I think I'll make some dahl tomorrow. I looked up the spelling to make sure the way I spell it is correct and guess what? 3 different spellings, dal, dahl and dalh. I guess it doesn't matter, just as long as it tastes good. Thanks again.
I have been following your journeys and was getting worried when you weren't posting videos.I am relieved you two are safe! (Re: Covid) Please be safe and thank you for sharing your adventures !
The food tour is amazing! It looks like there is some great stuff! I absolute love curries, so I definitely would love to go here, it looks great so far :)
You are most welcome.to our little Island home. I am Arqam. I was the host for their Food tour and I offer Comprehensive travel.solutuins within Sri Lanka.. Once the prevailing hazardous situation recedes come over. SRI LANKA HAS A LIT TO EXPLORE..
Wow, memories. We've been to Sri Lanka twice (from UK) and loved it. We travelled around with a local driver who knew the best places to eat. I never did master eating with my fingers; what a mess, yet his hands were clean! How do they do that? Really looking forward to seeing your road trip.
That is what the nan or paratha is for, tear a bit off fold it into a spoon shape and encompass the food, it was shown on a previous video or get your local Indian restaurant to demonstrate.
