Its crazy how many people are making youtube videos in front of dangerous food places that would give our parents major heart attacks back in the day. As a pre teen, id never thought the day would come where I would see content creators coming here to make videos, man how times have changed. I grew up on 41st street between St. Andrews and Gramercy. Back in the 90s, I use to ride my GT dyno here on school nights and midnights on weekends. That whole intersection is dangerous AF, my head use to be on a major swivel. Back then, a master burger with fries and a drink use to be $4.75. They call it "murder burger" due to how many people have been killed whether in the alley, the parking lot in the back, the louisiana chicken (use to be a church's chicken back in the day) Magees donuts (recently metro pcs) or the whole intersection in general. I recently told my mom that I use to go here when she worked graveyard at View Park Convalescent home up the street and she was blown away but thankful that I was safe lol. Shout out to the 90062.
I love how he played that drink pitch off, he wasn't disrespectful, he wasnt condescending, he just acted like he didn't even hear it but I know he heard it because we heard it and I'm sure he gave him a few dollars off camera not that he had to but it just seems like he has a good heart so I want to believe that he did❤
Ha! Wow. Vernon & Western. There were so many bodies caught RIGHT THERE & just a few feet away years ago. I guess times have changed. I'm happy that you & your cousin are remaining safe tho...
@@refresherproMan, I'm saying. The homey is walking around with a camera, in a brown t-shirt, in a c rip neighborhood, and he threw up a 👌🏼. Regular L.A. guys could never get away with this. 😂😂. His unassuming nature is almost comical at this point. But I'm happy that he's doing well with this channel & having success making these food review videos.
@@yankeesfn2 Lots of rational thinking Black folks have evolved & are thriving together here in L.A. But gang culture has still been in effect since the late 1960's/early 1970's. That's just the way it is...
This man and his cousin are doing a positive thing and highlighting the food beauty of LA and even helping to bring business into the city. Even mingling with the community as well as giving back. Damn the least you’ll can do is protect these gentlemen and make sure they are good wherever they go. They should never have to worry. It’s so sad 😞. Also what’s insane is that they aren’t even from there doing all of this for LA. Be grateful damn.
I agree with you 💯 👍. Girl you know it's that LA jealousy girl. Just find fault. Yes it's not a middle class neighborhood but I drove through rode busses and even walked around there 40yrs ago as a Kid. Things did happen, but mostly at night. I went to Master burger 🍔 on Adams and it was great. I just wished these businesses would find more convenient locations. Like parking. I guess I'm spoiled because: I don't live there anymore. However I'm always in LA. I was Born in LA. I Love ❤️ LA. I see the homeless situation is improving. Hope it get Even better.
@@twiladavis1516 thanks for telling me about this. Wow! My husband is from south central la, so he tells me the break down of la because I’m from the east coast so I’m clueless. I want to try that master burger.
@@Ms_Neffie It was good. I called it in. Surprised it was $4.75 for a smaller burger 🍔. Which is big for a female. It was delicious. They needed to move those abandoned cars 🚗 fr9m the street but it was cool. Yes try it. I think they work faster too. I lived at 3720 West Adams for 10yrs. B4 I left LA in 2003 for Vegas for 14mos. Then lived in Palm Springs 🌴 from 2005 to 2022, then I moved to Riverside for 1yr. Now I'm in Claremont since May 2023. California is a big state so many areas. I now live in the San Gabriel Valley. I.love it. I can come to LA as much h as I want only 35 Miles away now. Have you tried Mel's Fish? Black owned on Jefferson. OK good talk.
I never wanted to visit LA until I started watching this gentleman's videos. The food and people there all seem pretty great. Once I retire I will definitely be visiting
@@twiladavis1516 omg I didn’t even know you responded to me. I’m just now seeing your reply. Thank you so much for the information because it’s going to come in handy for when I visit California. Also that place where you live is it a safe area and is it affordable?
@@the.rico.networkit was awful in the early 90's. MFs always busting armed robberies at a market, liquor store, food joint, whatever! Boy have times changed for the better
With a good planning you can eat good while on health grind. In fact it is encouraged to have some kind of cheat-day so you can stay on it long term because you still can enjoy good life
She was so sweet; I love when people match your upbeat energy. I may have missed it, but I didn't hear a nare mention of the "health grind!" Did y'all fall off?! I hope not, because Cuz's face is slimming down and his hard work shows! Keep at it -- ALLL of it, er'thang you're doing!
FR. Cuz looking way slimmer in the face. Love to see it, back on the health ground myself and It feels so much better to move around easier, feel stronger, and actually earn when you get that cheat meal once a week. Carefully planned of course 😂
That pastrami and LA thing is real. I had two places I used to go to up in Hollywood, one was on Hollywood Boulevard, a 1/2 block west of Western, in the middle of the block. A little Korean mom and pop joint. They had screaming pastrami sandwiches with fries 🍟 and soda. They also had black eyed peas, ham hocks and hot water cornbread, for something like $2.75 back in ‘81. I also had a pastrami spot outside the Hollywood YMCA, on the corner They were Korean too. They had screaming pastrami sandwiches and fries too!
Man, thanks for uploading this, i love watching you conversating with the lovely local people, and coming from Melbourne Australia, I'm a world away! Loved this video so much I just had to subscribe to you. Thanks so much for keeping it real. ❤
I agree with what you said, I lived in LA for 17 years and never felt like my life was in any danger. Yeah I ended up in skid row a few times because of my GPS but I just kept the doors locked there.
I just sent this to my cousins in Virginia that will remember this spot forever. I told them about this place for years, they wanted to come here to experience the hood life. I warned them about this spot & they found out quick. That laundromat across the street & that shelter on Vernon was the hellraising spots. "How come it didn't faze you?" I was raised in South Central, this is normal. Same with Chabalita's & Taco Pete's. If you haven't been to either one, you need to go. Chabalita's, which is north of this spot, right off of the 10 fwy. Take comfort in knowing it sits directly next to a Fire Station. Taco Pete's is the only place on earth where the tacos taste better the next day. Don't try to understand it, you'll just have to try it. 120th & Central, get the ground beef tacos, eat a few, then start recording again the next day as you're eating them. I don't know if Bill's Tacos is still open (on King, east of the Coliseum)... but if they are, they use beef patties for their tacos.... yes, beef patties.
@@AmericanCriminals man this is gangland, he might’ve tapped in w the 40’s but did he tap in w the 30’s also?? Even if you did tap in, it’s not an excuse to be reckless w yo hands out in the city. I was raised in that area I seen ppl get packed out for way less.
I've been there for food. Everywhere is what you make it. Life doesn't make things great for you you have to make it great yourself. Try Guy lives laugh and has fun.
@@Wts105some people just not pussy, and some are naive to what goes on around them and don’t watch there backs. But like I said some people don’t give a fuck ese and walk or go where we want wit head held up high walkin like a G
It's because he's from out of town & doesn't have a clue about the gang politics. But he's somewhat notable now. So him & his cousin should be ok going to different hoods to do food reviews.
@@1-o-f-1hello, I am aware he didn't just order a burger. do you think it should have been $83? Maybe $60 but 83 nope. But I know inflation is what it is right now.
Another great Pastrami chili cheese fries is at The Hat in Alhambra. They have lots of locations but that's the original. Also, the Downey Pizza Company on Florence in Downey CA, has Pastrami Pizza that is amazing.
Man I'm from around the places you named and nah you need to step your food game up both those places are average at best. Downey has so many overrated places it's silly.
I'm in Manila right now, I lived in Stockton, California for years, I'm almost 72 yo, folks if you are afraid to go somewhere just stay home. Otherwise get your mummy asS in gear and see what's out there.
He don't "smack" too bad. You must consider, that mic is right on his collar and the sound is gonna be amplified. I love ❤ Alex. He got me eating all the foods 😅
Damn. Y’all started off in the 40z… 😂😂😂 This shows a good idea though. Y’all not tryna taunt LA on some “these guys ain’t that tough over here”. Respect
I been living over here for quite some years since 2010. I’ve lived out here since ‘82 but grew up in SFV off Topanga Canyon and Saticoy then lived in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Washington. I moved back to Los Angeles like I said in 2010. I use to eat at this location and met some real nice folks that will buy you food. It’s ALL about respect and how you carry yourself and yes! I have encountered some crazy things in this location just because🤷🏾♀️ . I just DON’T eat there once I saw the guy rubbing the counters and cleaning with a dirty dish rag then squeezed it out in the drain then he went and touched the hamburger patty on the grill without washing his hands he was sweating really bad as well😂😂😂this was back in 2018 so No! Thank you!!!!! That’s ALL it takes for me is one time to turn me off . I’m good and y’all be safe out here🤎
0:47 Same thing in Chicago and I'm guessing other big cities. It's when you start walking down random residential blocks you don't live around is when gangstas start acting worse than karen's. Saying things like "Who are you?", "Where are you from?", "you don't belong here! Leave!", "what's that tattoo about? Well, I don't like it cover it up now", "or ELSE", only they'll follow through with the or else part. Lol
Back in the days that was the sign of A ok! not the B sign, he's not aware he's from down south, but I'm glad he's safe and hope he recognizes that things changed, gotta be careful & aware!
Thought You And Cameron Showed Up And Out At The Last Masterburger On Crenshaw And Adam Not To Mention Tev's But Y'all Showed Up And Showed Out On Western And Vernon 😂 I Know That You Are In A Struggle With Your Health Journey 😅 Because Of All These Great Places Y'all Eating At Enjoy 😂😅🤣 God And Jesus Got You Guys Keep On Keeping On Breakthroughs Are Coming 😉❤💯
im from oakland, california man i miss the west coast good eats. we in georgia now. yo, we used to live in southwest little rock i remember going to baseline elementary
I haven't tried Master Burger. When I worked that area we would get Quick and Split they were on Western and the 70's, or 98th and Vermont or if more south then bust 3 Bears on 120th and Fig for a Burger. It's hard to beat a California burger. There used to be a good burger on Florence and the avenues but I forgot the name. Man I miss it there
This man literally taps in to most sections, yall in the comments talking about he playing games with LA...Shut up. Yall dudes have not a clue what's going on.
My hood! Grew up on 49th and Western. My go to is an egg and bacon cheese burger and fries. I stopped going because one day there was human poop in the parking lot and my stomach never recovered 😅
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ Salute to the platform ✊🏾 I haven't had Master Burger yet but those burgers look DELICIOUS-ER THAN A MUUUUG ! 😂 9:14 There's a place I've been going to since about '95 that basically started the trend of adding pastrami to fries. Their staple is called the "DUI" - it's chili cheese fries with pastrami AND carne asada ! My other favorite is the pastrami quesadilla. Jim's in Pico Rivera on the corner of Telegraph Rd and Passons Ave. Thank me later. 👇🏾
You can go anywhere in L.A in the DAYTIME. A lot of areas up there, even seemingly nice looking during the day, turn into The Thriller at night. I noticed buddy was hella dry begging for ya'll to buy him something.🥴
In Texas for 3+ years now. I miss Master Burger. That was one of my # 1 spots in L.A. I remember getting my nephew a burger from there and he was flabbergasted.
Bro I'm soooo glad you and cuzzo pretty much well known.. bc spots like that make you "REAL SUSPECT" with a camera in hand... but hope you come to houston soon
"Ehee ehee" 😂 camera man, good review man, Enjoyed watching. Will try a burger one these days. If you haven't already try "The Hat" they have good pastrami fries there.. im sure other things but ive only had the fries.

These are the only dudes i can see dive into some grub lol the reaction is fkn gold 😂. I do the exact same thing with every bite of good food 😂😊 also hold up hold up about that capitol of tacos! Its all about south texas!
You should try Whammy Burger. It is a small diner with a prominent hamburger theme in its exterior and interior, with most of the restaurant's interior decor consisting of its anthropomorphic boxing hamburger mascot, while the exterior of the restaurant has statues of their mascot, a large burger statue on its roof and street art of an opened burger in its parking lot. The restaurant's signature Whammybuger comes with special sauce. Whammyburger Double Whammyburger Whammy Fries Choco-Wham Shake
