I didn't see a previous video but I literally two videos ago saw a guy do this with the regular sized rolls, two cups of milk I, and he did the butter in the pan on the stove to melt it and then mix with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and some pecans on the stove still before pouring into the pan with the milk on the rolls, and then baking. Both ways look delicious, though his were more ooey gooey.😋
If anyone has the time I highly recommend making homemade cinnamon rolls. It takes obviously quite a bit longer but, imo, they are genuinely super fun to make.
Idk man. I bake all the time I make bread every other day. And cinnamon rolls are the bane of my existence. I’ve made them 3 times and they’re a whole day process and at the end I just wish I got these.
@@imcrummy6114 that’s understandable. to each their own. i’ve always just found rolling them really fun and the turn out has always been worth it to me but at the same time i also find making macarons and various other overly delicate things really fun too so maybe i’m just masochistic.
@@imcrummy6114 I make the dough in a bread machine.. from there it’s rolling, butter cinnamon etc, roll and cutting with dental floss. And I shouldn’t say ‘I make the dough’ when I literally add ingredients & the machine & it makes the dough 😂😂 I find bread machines at yard sales for $10 or $15 these days. Super easy compared to hand kneading 👌
What even is the original hack? To add cream, spices and butter on top before baking? If so, that’s not a hack - it’s adding to an existing product. A hack makes something easier, faster, cheaper, or more efficient. A better topping might be tastier, but that’s it a hack.
@@gamer_rabbit19 yeah, I absolutely suck at baking but cinnamon rolls is actually surprisingly easy and really cheap to make. You should try it out sometime!
Thank you for explaining the purpose of adding the extra steps. The result of the cream & brown sugar/cinnamon/butter mix wasn't obvious nor did she mention why she/anyone would do this.
It's because a whole generation of people were brought up on Sesame Street. The show was constantly teaching us to look for what didn't belong. Over and over, looking for what was wrong. After growing up like that we're trained to look for mistakes, what's wrong rather than what's right. It became our focus, sadly.
Use cabbage as a noodle replacement. Take few leaves, roll it up, and chop them into long strips. Boil or stir fry them until they're soft which can take 25-50mins. Then add meat, seasoning, onions, veggies. Can even use cabbage noodles as a ramen replacement so good. Can also make a cabbage lasagna. Try to keep the leaves in tact as possible. Boil them until soft, then layer it as you do with a regular lasagna. The cabbage noodles replaces the pasta noodles. It's so freaking good Get Spaghetti squash mix sausage or hotdogs in it, tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic and onion powder. You can get the frozen ones or a fresh one. If you get a fresh one cut it in half long way and poke holes on top. Oil the inside lightly and place them faced down in an oven pan and bake for like 25mins. You can find recipes online on how to bake them
You can also make extra thick and creamy mashed potatoes by adding cream instead of butter or milk. Just pure potatoes, cream, salt and pepper (and gravy if you want to give it the extra mile)
you can make pasta sauce too with grated parmesan and whatever seasonings you like, leftover herbs as well. the parmesan melts very easily into the heavy cream
Did this and they turned out amazing! My family didn't think they were from a can. I also added a tablespoon of plain yogurt to the icing and it gave it that tang of cre cheese frosting.
Omg I just made these and HOLY CRAP these are good!!!! I used just regular 8 ct generic rolls but if you follow the steps, you still get awesome rolls❤❤❤❤❤
They clearly do not give enough frosting in those biscuits. Especially if you're puffing the rolls up with cream/butter. If you ever want to add to the frosting all you need is a couple tsps of milk or water and a good dose of powdered sugar. Mix then stir in the original frosting and BAM! Lather those babies up! Lol 😂
Agreed. And any vanilla frosting will work well too. Just store bought vanilla or cream cheese icing. Depending on what you like and if you just wanna make it super easy. But, making it yourself is easy enough.
Never understood the addition of the icing in American cinnamon rolls tbh, what does plain vanilla icing bring to a already sweet, sugary cinnamon roll? Just excess.
@@TheWestlandgirl no it’s still a cinnamon rolls. Rolls generally don’t have icing. But Americans enjoy excess of everything. That’s the American way and it’s also why we are the fattest society of the world.
Okay….all those garbage ingredients from the cinnamon rolls and icing, and you make sure to use organic heavy cream??? You’re my kind of people!!! I eat healthy most of the time, and can’t shake my Diet Coke addiction knowing how bad it is. And I also just finished off a box of Twinkies after I took my non GMO supplements. 😂❤
Haha I’m the same way. Trying to get rid of the icky /barely food ingredients is a long process when you’ve eaten the Standard American diet your whole life.
This is the best!I love these cinnamon rolls I made them this morning for my sister and my mom and they loved it!I 12/10 recommended these! They are so moist and have such a good flavor.
If I were making this? Id cut the rolls into 1/3 bake and then I'd make like a gallon of the icing and put whole pecan pieces in the icing and pour this icing inside the 3 cuts and make my rolls to be flooded in this icing with pecans! If you're going to eat carbs, then do it all up! Yea.
I did my cinnamon rolls with SourCream, a Dash of Milk and a dash of Vanilla Extract, plus 1 Tablespoon Coconut sugar 😋 Delicious, it almost tasted like a costco Cheesecake 😊
Coffee creamer works great too! Yummy way to use it up and you don’t need to add the extra butter or sugar or flavorings. Just pour you favorite creamer over it and bake like normal. Sometimes you’ll have some sauce left in the pan after baking so before your pan cools, carefully flip your cinnamon rolls out onto a baking sheet and then sauce will coat them almost like monkey bread. Then ice a usual! So good!
You are not alone! I feel your pain as a fellow person allergic to cinnamon! Fall season sucks because everything has cinnamon in it somehow. Or you find that this year they decided to add cinnamon to the recipe and your like WHY. Ended up finding a pumpkin bread recipe that used ginger and cardamom instead of pumpkin pie spice(which has cinnamon). I think I cried for joy.
Perhaps you should pay attention instead of being so damn snobby about it? She was clearly adding things into said cinnamon rolls. Either way, they're just some pastries, chill out.
they were small and I don't think she added the butter and cinnamon. also the small rolls and the grands are very different. it's hard to explain. but if you've bought both you can notice it.
No the grands are actually completely different to the smalls. The grands are rolled with the filling in between the rolls like a real cinnamon roll. The smalls are just a ball of dough with butter common melted on top.
I add the icing before baking, no foil. Comes out a little caramelized after. Delicious. Must remove from baking dish right away bc icing cools to cement.
I understand the time you have for these videos is short. Given that... it would be Soooo nice if you'd put the recipe here in the comments. The video is much too fast to get all the info even after watching it several times
Sorry what- DO YALL HAVE PREMADE PACKAGED CINNAMON ROLLS?? Nah here we have to make the dough, double it’s size with the yeast, roll, cut, make the sugar and cinnamon mix, bake- YOU HAVE PREMADE ONES?!!
@@confused7867 that’s because they used to be way more pressurized than they are now. u would always get jumpscared by the can suddenly popping open if u tried to just peel off the paper. so ppl came up with ways that would instantly release that pressure and WASNT directly in ur face, haha like i said, most arent rly made that way anymore, but the fear still remains😅
Cinnamon rolls actually originated from Sweden, "kanelbullar"(spelling??). They are baked individually, as in not not smushed together and are not poured with frosting. Usuallly are topped with little sugar like balls(i dont know the name okay). They are much better and more delicious than the americanised version imo. I feel that the frosting is unecessary and ruins the rolls honestly. Would you put $2 ketchup on a premium cut steak? Im not hating but i definitely prefer the Swedish version🇸🇪❤
@@freecalypso311 I can’t post a link but try searching for Camilla Hamid and go to her playlist named ”Bullar” (second video in the playlist for regular authentic kanelbullar) here on youtube! She does only speak Swedish in her videos but she links the recipes at the top of the video descriptions and I believe the website has a translate button.
That sounds good! Personally though, I believe there is virtually nothing in the world that can't be made better with a little cream cheese frosting lol
My mom's been making homemade cinnamon rolls like this forever. With the milk and the brown sugar over the top. You don't have to use heavy whipping cream, you can just use 2% milk, works great ,tastes great!!!!
I love to add raisins to these cinnamon rolls too! I just put my raisins in a lil pot on the stove and add a little butter and water, then boil them for a couple mins to make the raisins moist and delicious. Then unroll the cinnamon roll and sprinkle the raisins on the cinnamon side, then roll em back up.
I dip mine in French toast mixture, eggs, cinnamon, milk or cream, and mexican vanilla, place in pan and a stick of melted butter and bake. Add icing.....yum!
