Melissa, you look great the way you are truthfully you don’t need anything on your face. You could go with no make up at all. Sometimes we don’t see the beauty in ourselves your beauty radiates from inside out. You don’t need make up at all. Your inner beauty shines. Wish I could be thin as you that’s all I could say we all have our issues in life. I suffered with anorexia all my life and now at 60 years old an average size 8, but I want to be a two or four like I always was so we all have things about us but guess what? It’s a gift to grow old a lot of people don’t. I just lost very close friend who I loved dearly I read it on the Internet for the love God I’ve been searching for a new home and I went to check in the area where they live and what do I find there obituary and I was like oh my God just be thankful and grateful. We’re still all here and wake up every every day and thank God for everything .❤

This really resonated with me and I thank you for posting it. Because all I saw was all the spots and discoloration and broken capillaries. And that's all I saw. And why are we this way? Like you, I am so grateful to be able to grow old and I am so blessed. May I ask if you had a critical mother? Mine was about the worst I've ever heard and so I'm in the habit of seeing the faults. Also, being on here and having people comment over the years about anything negative, I think we get in the habit of calling out the faults first before others do. Take care of yourself. You are a sweetheart and I thank you.

Melissa, you look beautiful without make-up. I am nearly 64 and although I haven't aged as badly as some people, I don't look anywhere near as good as you. A lot of 30 year olds would be thrilled to have your face. I am always up for a hack to hide dark under eyes. Mine are really bad because I am a redhead and my skin is really thin. Tfs xx

Hey Melissa! I am 72 and tried this hack, but used my own finely milled typical setting powder on top of my concealer. It truly looked and lasted wonderfully. I think it’s that Maybelline powder that may cause problems with some.

I have used this hack but the Aquaphor DOES collect in the deeper wrinkle right below the lower lid water line. Scott Barnes also uses it on the marionette lines. Also collects there and if you watch him he does not just use a little bit. However, I did watch a you tube makeup artist that worked in hollywood( I need to find her name but she is very good) use the Aquaphor in the tube as a primer. Apparently an old Hollywood trick. Now that works nicely and you get a great glow. Thank you❤❤

I love the Maybelline Superstay Powder. I also like the Maybelline Fit Me concealer, I remember when it used to be recommended on RU-vid. I didn’t notice a difference, both under eyes looked good. I think it would give me millia under my eyes

I used to avoid petroleum products like Aquaphor but I recently developed eczema out of nowhere and so I'm very interested in this method for my eyes. I think you look better the way you usually do it to be honest Melissa. I use the elf camo, pixi corrector and painterly but I put it on over my foundation. I think I may try doing it under like you and see if that's better. I don't think I'd bother with the lip balm trick. And happy belated birthday to your daughter xx

I just saw this and I have to say I think the balm eye does show lines a bit although the makeup on that eye looks nice to me. I think though for wanting to conceal lines that the non-balm eye does look some what better. For what it's worth, still looking pretty though!

That’s a great hack. I don’t see any crow’s feet or wrinkles. If I put concealer under my eyes it brings out the wrinkles. I love your eye makeup. You look amazing. Good luck moving your son. Nice to see you, and both eyes look great to me! Maybe it’s just me, but you mentioned how makeup melts together. That’s the part that always seems to bother me, and I think it’s because it takes a while. I always try to get my skincare and makeup done before I even get dressed for the day. These days, unless I am going somewhere special, I don’t even use any foundation. Using skincare and my DRMTLGY Sunscreen SPF 44, a little blush, lipstick, very light eyeshadow and mascara is all I use. I’m 72 and actually foundation, etc. tends to make me look older. Tretinoin has really saved my skin over the years! Melissa, thank you for the video!💕🙏

I actually tried this 3 days ago for the first time. I love it! I'd usually put on a bit of eye cream before concealer, but it still wasn't as smooth a coverage. The lip balm made it look so much better on me.

Both sides are beautiful Melissa and honestly I don’t see much difference at all. I do agree that when she want to look a little more “special” we might go to this extra length …I probably would because I’m so vain lol….i did purchase the balm and foundation and have tried it once and because my skin has aged so much I just didn’t see any difference. Hi Melissa, Ya Gorgeous Girl ya !! Can't believe your covering this hack because about a year ago I started using just the Maybelline Superstay 16H powder to foundation as a concealer and never gone back to other concealers. Unless my eyes are really bad I might use any concealer and then the Superstay over it, but usually it honestly is just the Superstay 16H I use. I have dry skin also, but this stays all day. Hi Melissa, both eyes look gorgeous! To save some money, I just may try this trick using my La Mer Lip Balm and Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in Color 1 Fair which I already have to see if I get a good result. I am same age as you (1955--just had my 69th birthday last week) and usually skip concealer on a daily basis unless I really need it or am glamming up. Then I will sparingly use Trush McEvoy Instant Eye Lift to lighten and brighten as needed. I also sometimes use Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ochre to tone down redness in my lids. I'll experiment and report back to you with my results. Thank you for sharing this hack. You look great!

I tried it out on my 77 yr.old skin and it worked (although I used Laura Geller powder foundation, not Maybelline) - but I would save it for a night out. What I did get out of it was how good a lip balm Aquaphor is! So much better than the Carmex I have been using for years. I know you have told us before, but what eyebrow product do you use? I did think it looked good on you.

I see many women use powder on their eye concealer, but I can see the powder looking cakey in the creases under my eyes. The powder seems to settle in the fine lines, so I don’t use powder around my eyes. I use lip balm to tame my eyebrows. I really don’t think the lip balm made a difference on the eye you used it on, but I love the tip you gave on using it on the flaky spots from retinol. You’re blue eyes are stunning. 😊

Hi Melissa we’re always our own worst critic 😂. Your skin is amazing for 69. Having a few freckles or slight wrinkles is just natural skin and your skin looks healthy and glowy close up. The makeup doesn’t look harsh but remember nobody is that close up in real life😂. I have severely dry skin with rosacea and eczema so my undereye is also dry dry dry. I have been using a second layer of eyecream just before concealer for a very long time (less heavy than the balm) and very whisper lightly set my undereye with the hourglass ambient powder to stop my mascara smudging due to the extra eye cream. I think the reason it may feel heavier is the balm itself and that is a much heavier powder. Try some eye (or face) cream and a lighter powder to see if you like it better😂. Best wishes x

Sounds like you already had a good routine-that’s why you see minimal improvement! I use this hack but all I do is put on the lip balm (not even aquafor!) and put concealer on top. The concealer goes on beautifully and stays all day. I love this hack! The only concern I have is that a RU-vidr pointed out that this is formulated and FDA approved only for lips and if prone to milia, this may create more of those little white bumps! You have absolutely beautiful skin-even up close-and as a 59 year old, I know good skin when I see it!

Your skin is flawless. My under eyes have bags that have bags lol. I’d be afraid of using lip balm under my eyes causing clogged pores. I had no pores till I hit 50 now I have car tires for pores 😅

Your skin is “goals” I absolutely aspire to look this good at your age. That said, I get it …we’re our own worst critics and the tiniest little imperfections are all we can see. That negative internal voice always seems to louder than anything positive. I’ve had a bit of a struggle with turning 40 , my hair started falling out, lines appeared overnight, and products that have worked for years just seem to make everything worse. Social media & advertising creates such an illusion it’s easy to forget the smoke and mirrors of it all. Thank you for making these videos, you’re more helpful than you’ll ever know. ❤
