Great video, brings back fond memories! I passed through the Canal 40 years ago on a 43' monohull - no rafting, I guess there were less yachts then! The 'current' you felt on the first set of locks could have been the rush of incoming water which enters from the SIDE, as they fill up the lock - it was strong enough to break our bow mooring line on that side, which was quite hairy! Happy travels in the Pacific!

Nice vid. I was born and raised there. Been through the Canal many a time. Even rowed a kuna cayuca from the Atlantic to the pacific. Took 3 days, even through the locks.

Hey guys, still enjoying vids from 3yrs ago but dropped in on this one. Stunning!!! I have heard of 100.000 dollars for large ships to travel through. How much did they charge for the little guys? Don’t worry about being late from one paradise to another cause your missing a huge anti cyclone over UK an Norway rite now!!! I noticed that the Fleet is down to 25 boats now. With GreatCircle's accident, Spekeend and Surya having to stop, it's been an 'eventful' trip. It must be tough to see your friends no longer traveling with you and have their problems. Let's not have any more 'events' like those happening again. Wishing everyone, even those who went back home, health and safe travels.
I am 100% in agreement with Ms. Captain Pegasus. It's her boat, she's the responsible party, she's in charge. A pilot is an advisor to the captain, but the captain remains both in charge and ultimately responsible for everything. It's unfortunate that the pilot had to be told this basic and obvious fact.
I'm French and I can tell taht the Girl on the Pegasus cat was not happy at all when you restart the panama canal., but she's french, so it's normal ;-) Have a nice journey in the Pacific !!!
Great video. The experience going through the locks the first time must have been nerve wrecking. Do you have pay to for the advisor ? Or is that included in the fees to cross.
Glad to hear your boat is OK, but what about the other Catamaran? Did they sustain damage? Could they continue? No mention or care from you sounds a bit self centred and selfish.
