In this episode, my local guide Didier and I start riding south along the west coast of Madagascar. It's the rainy season and the swamps and rivers are not easy to cross.. Somewhere along the line, Didier and I get separated and I have no clue where he is or what's going on..

When you rely on your community, the value of helping other people becomes clear. It's not really "giving" it's actually "making sure everyone is in a good place, so they can help me". Helping other people benefits you too. Same thing happens in wealthy countries after some kind of disaster. Never been closer to people living nearby than when a category 5 hurricane passed overhead.

Worked 4 years in Madagascar. Been riding my XR400 all over the country alone or in group. When you get lost, hitch a local on the back of the bike to put you back on the right track. Don't forget the tip in one of the poorest country around the world, everybody happy. When you ride with somebody better ride apart because it is very dangerous to ride in other guys' dust. When you reach a diversion or cross track the guy in the front stops and wait for the other to catch him up. If no pirogue to cross a river, get 4 guys and pass 2 sticks across the wheels to lift the bike and get on the other side. Been there and done your mistakes before. It is a very challenging country to ride a motorcycle but you always get through thanks to the amazing people that leave in those remote places, always ready to help you. Loved it. ENJOY.....

The absolute best way to see the world has been through Noraly’s videos. How she manages to film so much in all the precarious situations is just amazing. All the helpful people that helped her and DJ through the swamp were just so cool. Seeing the difference in the Garmin and your tablet definitely is a good reason for the change. This episode of Madagascar is so amazing. The nature is beautiful, the people so kind. The adventure with all the roads full of water and still Noraly is smiling! No matter what she stays positive. I see it as a lesson in my own life; no matter what obstacles are there stay strong and keep on going with a smile and trust ❤️

Noraly , from watching this video, I would say you really prefer riding alone but I can certainly see that doing that in Madagascar is not a good idea. Really love watching your travels. You are one brave Woman!

No exaggeration in this title, a cliffhanger no less! In watching your videos there is an enjoyment in seeing your struggles and how you deal with them but only because viewers want to see you get through those struggles well and with your usual good character.

This is the ultimate adventure. No specific roads, but you keep going. Sounds like there are parts of Madagascar where they speak swahili. "Salama" is am good
@josephmathew2154
@josephmathew2154 Месяц назад
Salama is a generic greeting in many Muslim countries. Not an indication of Swahili. Christianity is the dominant religion but Islam also exists here.
@nomenairintsoaramarojaona9653
@nomenairintsoaramarojaona9653 Месяц назад
No, Malagasy is actually the only language spoken in Madagascar but is divided in different dialects which sometimes may sound like african languages depending on the region. "Salama" simply means "I am good" and can be used as a shorter way to greet someone or respond to "Manahoana" which means how are you.

Time seems to stand still when you are lost and you will swear that your compass is pointing the wrong way. I really hate to have to wait until the next episode to see whether we find our way out! You are a brave spirit Noraly.........

What an adventure in this episode... a barely perceptible path through the grass... a river to cross with the pirogue... a swamp to cross with the help of the village boys... losing your traveling companion and local guide... How useful a pair of walkie talkie radios would have been! Madagascar is beautiful, but its wild nature and very bad roads make it difficult to tackle every itinerary, and you always have to be ready for the worst... Thanks for the images and see you next adventure (above all I hope you'll find Didier again!). I hope to go to Madagascar one day: I loved this country thanks to your images!
