I have two goldens as well! One of them ALWAYS brings us one of his toys when we get home. He will literally see that we are home, run to grab a toy, and then come up to us! I don’t know why, but I think that it is either 1. A gift or 2. He is trying to be like “look! I have only been chewing my toys and nothing else!”

Omg our Golden did the same as Camper. It’s so cute, funny, and kind that they try to bring you or someone new something when they greets you. Here’s what we did with our pup, we found 1 special stuffed toy that we made her “favorite” and every time we would come back and she would try to bring something, we would say go get your “baby” and at first we would go with her to get it and show thats what we wanted eventually she would only search for that 1 stuffed toy instead of other random things (bags, shoes, towels, etc lol). Seriously try to train him now like that!

This was so relevant for me, I love when you do devotionals!! I’ve been battling with a big change/decision and I can see God guiding me but it’s hard to let go of my own stubbornness and do as He wants me to.

We have a golden retriever too. He also brings us ANYTHING. As soon as we come home he runs to us and then runs back to get us something. He often brings us his toys. But his favorite are socks! He find them all over the house and we don’t even know how that is possible. I think it’s a golden retriever thing, they love to bring us things and fetch stuff! That’s why I love them, it’s like a gift from him every time we were away and get back home ☺️

Kristin my dog is a labrador-retriever cross; he's about 7 years old and for as long as I can remember, he's always done that! He also brings things to us if we're physically interacting - so if two or more of us are hugging or playfighting, he'll go away from us to fetch a toy/sock/tissue/WHATEVER, and bring it back to us. It's so sweet and peculiar! Loved hearing you talk about your dogs :)

Wow, Marcus and his sister look so much alike.

We have a husky and she loves to chew on things. We bought her lots of squeaky toys and she has learned to only play and carry those around the house! We can tell her to go get her baby and she will go get one and bring it to us! It’s precious!

Yes! My friends mini Australian Shepard brings something whenever someone comes in the door. She has pillow pets that the dog loves so much and carries around. If they see that you like the pillow and encourage bringing that specific toy then they’ll continue

I have an Aussie/Irish setter mix and she always brings us a toy when we get home, if she can’t find a toy she brings a sock or blanket or plastic bottle or anything she can and I think it’s like a “I love you and I want to give you something to show you I’m happy to see you” ❤️ -kaitlyn

This devotion hit me in a different way. I was just broken up with on Monday night, and I’m having to make the changes to surround myself with loving people and those who are loving and supportive of my needs and desires. It’s not an easy path, but I am taking it one step at a time

I have a 1 year old golden retriever named Denver! It’s so funny that you mention that because every time I come home! Denver will grab the first thing he see and bring it to me and wag his tail so hard and make a happy growling sound! It makes me laugh everyday and is so cute!! But he doesn’t chew it, he just gets so excited he has to grab something! I love watching Camper and Honey!💛

Yes, I am a dog walker and lots of dogs do that!!! I walk a 5 month old golden retriever and she brings me stuff too! I think what might help is positive reinforcement! My golden retrievers always bring us stuff too! Slippers, floor mats, cushions, sticks, stones, socks, whatever they can reach- you name it! I think it's in their nature as they're bred to retrieve hunted animals. If I'm not mistaken, that's why they can hold things really gently so as not to damage the animal in their mouth.

That devotional at the end was just what I needed!

I'd been praying all day for God to give me a sign on what to do about a relationship in my life and just guide me and tell me what his plan is for me. I watched your video last night and your devotion at the end really made me realize I needed to make a change, even though I don't want to. So thank you so much!!! ❤️

I have two dogs and one of them is a husky so he’s always up to something. He prefers socks and pillows and blankets over his own toys of course. We keep all of his toys in one designated basket that he can access and reward him when he gets a toy from there, and then we use a spray bottle (filled with 3 parts water and 1 part distilled white vinegar) and spray him whenever he grabs something he’s not supposed to. I always feel bad because he’s cute but it doesn’t hurt him and it honestly works like a charm and stopped the behavior.

I have a golden retriever that will be 1 year old this coming Monday and another golden retriever that is 13 weeks old and the big one brings anyone that comes in the house ANYTHING she can find! Usually it is a toy or a bone but sometimes she’ll bring us a throw blanket or a shoe. She also cries out of excitement while she’s holding her “welcome home present” in her mouth haha. The little pup doesn’t do this yet, but I’m just waiting for the day that she picks up the habit from the big pup. I think it’s super cute and I don’t even know how we would break this habit but she hasn’t ruined anything yet so I’m not going to stop her! Camper and Honey are adorable!

Hey Kristin, I have a Labrador and honestly, the best and most effective way to truly stop dogs from behaviour you don’t want, e.g them playing with things that aren’t toys is just discipline and tough love. As much as we love our dogs, when raising my Labrador, I immediately made it known for him what was a toy and what wasn’t, simply taking whatever he might’ve grabbed immediately and saying no in a more serious tone. Puppies will push the boundaries to see what they can do and get away with so you have to be consistent, in my old house, my dog was allowed upstairs but in my new house he’s not, so whenever he went to go up the stairs, I just reaffirmed the ‘no’ and he never even tried to go upstairs and he also only chews/takes his own toys- hope that long comment might help a bit ❤️❤️❤️

That's how our golden lab mix is!!! He always grabs a piece of clothing or something he isn't supposed to have and brings it to us. I think it's just to get your attention. But he looks so cute when he does it that you can't get mad!

I also had two Golden Retriever for over 13 years and they did the same thing as Camper does. Then we bought small pillows - especially for dogs - like cute little toys and after we bought them, they always brought these pillow-toys and no socks or anything else they shouldn't 😊 I hope my experience helped you a little bit :)

I love your devotionals at the end of your vlogs. It is something so little but this one helped me so much. I recently have quit my job and I was praying about it so hard and was miserable there and I knew that God wanted me to leave. I have so many dreams and aspirations, but I want to do it in God's timing and on His terms. I want so badly to be obedient and make the changes necessary but this helped me to remember that I need to humbly ask God the changes that He wants me to make. So thank you, it was a good reminder to just ask God what needs to be done.
