I related a lot to what you said about loneliness and the importance of maintaining relationships. As a truck driver, that has been especially difficult and I think of it as a type of psychological inertia. You get so used to being alone that it becomes much more difficult to pursue relationships. That, and the very long hours and very limited time away from the truck are just prohibitive. On a more positive note, I also really appreciated your suggestions about being out in a wide open space alone. There was a great episode of Hidden Brain on NPR where they discussed the concept of awe, and I think that's what you were tapping into. When I'm home in Chicago, I love taking my cold plunges alone in Lake Michigan, and experiencing the wonder as I look out over the endless expanse of the lake. It fills me with this beautiful feeling that really has been healing for me. Love to you and the boys!! ❤❤

Dogs are the very best friends. I just lost my Bella (who looked a lot like Camper) I had her for nine yrs. After 5 days, I went to the shelter and someone was bringing a sweet pretty lab mix back. This dog laid on my feet and licked my leg. My search was over. He never made it back to the lockup. My most wonderful day after 5 awful days. I am so blessed. When I lived in Desert Hot Springs in 2010, I met a guy who lived in this place. His aunt owned it at the time and I used to go there and use the hot tub as well as swim in that large natural pool…. that place was so awesome. I heard they sold the place a few years ago and it was such a trip to watch your video and see what’s happened to the place which is now called bubbling wells ranch.

Nikki there is a mail service for full timers called My RV Mail they are in Florida. They receive your mail and packages, enter them into your digital mailbox and they will package and ship your stuff wherever you are upon your request.

Paul Gary is my uncle :) I was there while he and his partner Theresa were adding to the art and building out! We thought it was beautiful then and it is still beautiful. Happy the new property owners have maintained the art.

Awesome stuff. To this day for me being out in the middle of the ocean when it’s pitch black at night is the greatest humbling experience to make you realize how tiny you are in the grand scheme of things. It makes you reflect on how much wasted energy people put into their daily lives with meaningless things.
I feel for the dogs! They have to vacate their van spots (seats, bed zones, sofa) when Justin visits. Even if they love him, I bet they secretly think "this mustn't go on for ever..... buy us our own van mama!'😊😊😊😊😊😊
Years ago, I went to some Indian Reservation in Palm Springs with Palms like what you are walking around. I was blown away. I have never seen anything like them since. It's definitely a unique environment.
