Trying To Pack For A Trip 

I recently spent 4 days at a friend's lake house. Came home and unpacked; truly half of the clothes were still clean and folded. Plus I came home with two new dresses. Didn't even think to pack the trumpet, though.

Cleaning and getting random things accomplished before packing is spot on

I seem to pack EVERYTHING. I make lists, and double check everyone's stuff to make sure we have everything. Packing usually starts a week or two before, so I put the stuff in, as I go. Overpackers Anonymous for me....

I want to hear the rest of his poems from childhood. The ADHD is working for him because he is fun to watch and I want to see his creative mind as a kid.

I HATE to pack. I mean, how am I supposed to know what I’m going to want to wear on any given day? 😩

I always make a packing list with the goal of staying light. I get so nervous when my husband runs around doing a million things besides just getting ready to go prior to a trip, so I can totally relate to that.

Whenever a girl buy the dress and someone says they like it, the very 1st thing the girl says if oh thank you It has pockets

Only thing I can relate too..is I too clean up and straighten room for house keeping. There job or not, I don't feel right leaving our mess for someone else. I clean up mostly everything so all they have to do is vacuum, sanitize, and collect the linens that I leave in a nice pile. I pull the bed linens though.. not make the bed so they know it was used.

Lol, Yes packing winter coats/ jackets in the middle of summer is an absolute must!! My mom always has a coat in the back of the car and water. It's just a given essential.

I used to be a housekeeper and please please don't make your bed at the end of the stay. Pulling all linens off for housekeepers is much more helpful, along with leaving a tip on the nightstand or table if there's a kitchenette. I've only been tipped twice and those times it was really thoughtful (and helpful as a college student)

Literally just taking a “brain break” from packing right now. We’re camping, and honestly I wish I were packing for a hotel right now…so much stinking prep! And I’m obsessing with the weather, like checking it several times a day is going to change the rain forecast?

I always pack WAY too much food. And clothes. You never know when it will snow. 😅 Well done, Kim and Penn! 👏

Contradicts another video where Kim had to get all the laundry done to go on a trip, but Penn was like "Yeah, I'll just grab clothes from the hamper...still good."

I do overpack. I bring like 5 pairs of under wear for a 2 day trip, like what do I think's gonna happen I don't need 5 pairs of underwear while I'm home

I hate packing so this is me procrastinating as much as possible. I think clothes are the worst because you might have to do a load if laundry before you start.

I'm in my 40s and I just planned and executed my first SPONTANEOUS vacation, WITH my family (also a first). I packed almost too little - we would have been exactly fine, but my partner insisted on dressing our son in his going home clothes for the trip TO a waterpark (instead of in his bathing suite, as was my plan). So we were one outfit short and my son hates wearing the same thing throughout the day even when it's clean so that was fun, but other than that I highly recommend it. All the stress of the packing I usually do all the week long prior, nagging others to do theirs, just crammed into one day and over with. No "I can do it later' from the fam (and they never do it, it's always left to me anyway) and I got to drill-sergeant a list and have them run around and grab everything in real time instead of them coming to ask me every 2 minutes where something is. Magnifique!

As a vacation rental cleaning business owner please strip the bedding if you want to help, start dishwasher. Emptying the trash is great and I won't complain if you were to vacuum 😉

The gym clothes were spot on! I've packed a couple of sets for a week vacation, and I'm lucky if I go to the gym ONCE! But I'm always hopeful. 😉

Yeah, we're going to Guatemala for almost a month. All of this is me along with the freaking out about making sure i learn at least a tiny bit of Spanish, find a house /pet sitter and make sure we absolutely don't forget anything that we can't easily get there. I felt this to my soul lol

Oh no. Not me. I am like throw everything in the bag starting 30 minutes before we leave to the airport. Be that business trip or 2 week vacay. My husband on the other hand has been shopping for like 3 months for a new wardrobe for our next trip.

The first part of cleaning random things is my husband when we're getting ready for guests to come over. Overpacking strange things is me on every vacation. Thoroughly cleaning up almost everything where we stayed on vacation...both of us.

Hey, girls - I think we can all agree: pockets(!) are worth the diversion.

True story, I overpack, always did! One time, when we went to Florida, I packed everything, but forgot underwear! Luckily, there was an outlet and I got some! 🤣

Um, that teal dress looked great on you and had POCKETS! IMO that was absolutely a vacation necessity!!

I did the exact same thing this year! Sorted photos by year, removed duplicates to a separate pile and read grade school writing assignments. Lol

Omg-this is me! I come up with the most random things I have to get done before a trip.

I never go anywhere without my Air Fryer but then again, I own a Motorhome which makes it a much more reasonable item to add and so incredibly efficient. I do need to buy an Air Fryer especially for the Motorhome which makes more sense than taking the one from the kitchen each time I set off. Luckily, I have always been a great packer which I learnt from a very young age yet not from my mother!🇦🇺

So totally the opposite! The moment I make plans for vacation, I immediately start planning what to take. Usually, I’m packed up two days in advance. 😆 But once I get back, it takes forever before I unpack.

My brother-in-law is often like this. lol. Not the same things Kim is doing, but he just finds random things that he HAS to get done before leaving.

A week before I make a list if what we need to bring. Then 3 days before I pack. I do this because then we can see if we need to go to the store to get anything on the list.

So, obviously, pack lite means pack light bulbs...

Lol! The exact opposite of me. "How little can I get away with taking and how small of a bag can I take with me?" I just came back from a 5 day trip where I used one of those tiny roller bags that can fit on Spirit airlines. That's it. No handbag. No backpack. Just that little roller bag. And I was mad at myself for bringing too much. =D =D. WHY did I break those tennis shoes? All I needed was the flip flops. =D.

The sudden need to do a whole bunch of home projects before you leave... lol! TY!

This was me before every deadline ever. Except… I polished my silver and cleaned my baths, although I did do the baseboards once. I retired, and haven’t polished my silver even once since! I do still clean the baths, which is fortunate!

Just got back from vacation and I didn’t pack any Jackets and the kids was cold every where we went. We had to go buy them jackets. 😂😂😂

We recently went on vacation with our three teenage daughters, and yes, half my husband’s bag was mine and the girls’ stuff. 😂

OMG, when I was traveling internationally regularly for business, this was me 100%. Hilarious. I would always wait until the very last minute. So funny.

I start packing a week ahead of time. I use 1/4 of the stuff I pack. I spent 4 hours cleaning during my last vacation. I gave the cleaning person the day off. Lol We got an excellent review for our stay.

Lol I do have a tendency over pack as well. Although never a trumpet. I always bring a nice dress for late night dinner 50 percent of the time I need it lol. The last trip when we were at a hotel because our house had repairs i barely brought anything and had to but a bunch of stuff at Walmart lol

Just yesterday I was thinking that I need to drop off the glass and paper recycling before we go on vacation. And, of course, clean the house, wash sheets and towels, etc. But I do NOT pack like that!

I hate packing and always procrastinate til the last minute. And all the clothes I’ve worn in the past week are the clothes I want to bring but I don’t want to do laundry either.

You think that’s bad , try moving. I keep putting if off. BTW the blue dress is awesome you should get it. I have no idea why dresses never had pockets before. My wife has a few with pockets and I will admit I was amazed and impressed.
