Doc Ock may have started out as an un-filmable, over-the-top mad scientist in the comics but Alfred Molina made him one of the most compelling and sympathetic characters in all of Marvel. From his very first scene, he went from a skeptical peer to a kindred spirit to full-on taking Peter under his wing and inviting him to family dinner. He never set out to rule the world, he’s just a guy who got brainwashed by his own creation.

Naaah, at the core, he had evil in him. He was never a mad scientist, just a scientist who went mad trying to create. Even in NWH after “certain situations” , he was about to be back on the same shit.

Hi Stef!😊 Doc Ock's metal tentacles are A.I. so they can think on their own. The inhibitor that keeps him in control of the tentacles was destroyed in the accident, on the back of his neck. Great reactions revisiting your second original Spider-Man film, Steph!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏 This is my favorite in the Sam Raimi Trilogy!🏆🏆

Unfortunately, the MCU movies dont have as much heart as these did. The MCU has its moments, but its very few because they constantly cut the tension with a joke. Andrews movies have heart too, tho. I still think this is the best marvel movie ever made. Its also the closest adaptation to the original Spider-Man comics.

The reason he was losing his powers was becuase of inner existential crisis and stress he was going through which is honestly excellent depth for a character like Spidey in terms of writing. Such a masterpiece of a film 💯

This is my favorite movie of all time. I can literally watch it multiple times a day. This is my childhood wrapped up in one trilogy. I still remember putting on my Spider-Man suit jumping from couch to couch when I was a 5yrs old lol

man i'd love to see a reaction to amazing spiderman as well. andrew garfield is a phenomenal actor; he's very intellectual and romantic with his characters, and he's done broadway, musical movies, comedy, drama, action, dystopian, sci fi, you name it. seriously he even did drag in angels in america, which discussed the aids crisis in the 80s. as someone who struggled in school and with the social/emotional problems that come with ADHD, his personhood as peter parker really touched me, and his humor and nerdiness as spidey is so fantastically executed. the emotion he portrays has made me cry and laugh and everything in between. I also loved the aunt may in those movies and the way that gwen isn't a damsel in distress all the time. ASM is so underrated! not to mention, such a cutie lmao

Fun fact you can tell when otto is in control because the lights in the center of the arms are white, and when the arms are in control, they turn to red. Love the vid reaction 👍

When he fell, because he had no spider web, and got up after crashing - you said "how's that possible?". Spiderman is an actual superhero. Wiki quote about him: superhuman strength, agility, reflexes, stamina, durability, coordination, and balance; clinging to surfaces and ceilings like a spider; and detecting danger with his precognition ability called "spider-sense". He can take a lot of punishment. He's not like Batman or Ironman that are normal people with awesome suits / armor because they are very rich.

Another fun fact, Peter powers are connected to mj mentally. In the first movie, he built his suit thinking about mj her hair color and the color of the car he wanted. Every time he sees mj and he's not fighting for her, his powers start to fail. They fully come back when mj gets taken, so he now has something to fight for. And it shows a glimpse of how strong he can be during the train fight

His arms in this weren't CGI, they had dudes in bluescreen suits and they were basically puppeteering them with sticks. WAAAAY better than CGI arms....ahem ahem and the part in the burning building. thats one of the things Peter struggled with forever, you cant save everybody. still does to be honest. also, have a GIANT feeling Aunt May knows, especially with the scene about where Henry missing him. if she knew Peter loved MJ, she is smart enough to figure out spiderman. plus, they talked literally face to face with each other. even with a mask, i could tell the family members i live with just by voice lmao. i can only assume that is a far stronger feeling as a parental figure to someone.

Stef, in the cartoon Spiderman and his Amazing friends, there is a costume dance party and we see Wanda and Vision dancing, and in that episode, we see Norman Osborn being flown home from an insane asylum, he thought he was a monster, and lightning hits the helicopter and it crashes, and Norman is thrown to the ground. and he is knocked unconscious,, and he starts transforming, and his skin turns green and scaly and his ears and nose and chin get pointy, have you seen the movie, Captain Marvel yet? and if you watch the 1967 cartoon Fantastic Four, they fight the Skrulls and hypnotize it into being a cow, and forget it's a Skrull, i think Norman is that Skrull, so when he transforms, he thinks he is a monster, or a, Goblin, not a space alien.

Raimi's Spider Man 2. Oh, well, you know, it's just the best superhero movie ever along with Burton's Batman and a couple MCU movies... Neither Garfield's nor Holland's movies come close to this one. And the single best villain, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock. Plus, the train scene is among my favourites ever. Game of Thrones is a cool new thing to react to. Just be ready for tears and some of the coolest characters ever. And a final season which is divisive, to say the very least.
