@@foodsfromaroundtheworld wow thanks so much for the recommendation. I am at my MIL's on Saturday night so perhaps I'll make a trip to Wenzel's on Sunday on the way home. I agree, they need to expand. It's crazy they don't have a Canterbury branch. I could get there within an hour. Up north, Pound Bakery is a popular competitor to Greggs. I don't know whether you are familiar with the brand but it is pretty good and their prices are more competitive than Gregg's. My Dan tried their hand-crimped steak and ale pie and he thought it delicious and it was packed full of meat and mushrooms and a rich gravy. They do some good cakes and vegetarian pastries too in case you eat halal.
