Hi Francesco, You don't have to enable or install anything. On mine, I simply plugged in the USB keyboard. It might help to restart your rig, but not necessary. Then once you start the decoder by pressing SCP until you get to the blank bottom section and then pressing F3, the Decoder will have 2 sections. The one on the top is larger and especially large if you press Extend. There is also a small section at the bottom that should have a small red blinking cursor. Simply type what you want to send and press enter on the USB keyboard or press Start on the rig. There are some other nuances about it where in the right mode, it will continue to TX as you type, but I haven't explored all that yet. Hope this helps, John McVey, K4AFE
Thanks John, just bought the rig and hopefully arrive on Friday .... I am anticipating the wife will replace the locks on the house door by Saturday morning ;) I appreciate this video is now 4 years old but hope you are still enjoying the rig :)
Thanks, Steve. I am still enjoying this fantastic rig. What I appreciate most about nearly all Kenwood rigs is that almost every function you need while operating is on the front panel. You don't need to go digging through menus to change something you need quickly. The menus do contain a ton of useful stuff, though. But fortunately, most are things you set once and forget about them. It did take me a while to set all those things, though! 🙂 Just take your time going through the menus and setting things as you want or that have been recommended. 73, Merry Christmas, John, K4AFE
