Ed V nice job when you had me fooled at black Chrome that the color I thought you were growing for man that black Chrome Was so beautiful man and then you hit it with the Chrome? Then I was like that that Chrome the black was so much sweeter. I think I would ask you to trip it all back down and put it back to black. I guess I didn't know what I had just tripped it back down. And put it back to black
That is so AMAZING!!! I can't believe how many layers of whatever ur putting on there...it looks like real chrome no doubt. I think that's Amazing! The only thing I wish u had included would b what ur doing in words on the screen. Listing what each chemical or whatever u used from beginning to end. My friend and I were just sitting here saying over and over "what is that"!? So...what were u using?! We would really love to know. 🤔😁 Thank u for making this video. It was super cool. U obviously have done this once or twice b4 😉
As microparticulas de cromo ou outras substancias quimicas entram pelas vias aerias vao para os pulmoes e nem cirurgia da conta do recado... e o operador nem usa luvas tambem, precisamos falar pra ele , os pulmoes sao muito sensiveis.
It's silver nitrate, EXACTLY the same process as making mirrors. It's not a durable process, and yellows in the sun. It also peels and flakes off after a month or two. Also, no matter which "spray chrome" video you watch, you "NEVER" see the base coat application or the final clear coat application. You "NEVER" see a follow up video, a month or two down the road. It's garbage... I know, because I was "taken" for a $3000 system from a company in Florida.
+Kustom Krome I live not far from the place. You can't even go visit the place for a tour without signing up for a class. My uncle and I were going to invest in this with tax money. Didn't do it though. So are you saying it is completely not worth it or is there techniques to make it last?
IDK Buddy... I never made it work. I am a trained paint and body guy, powder coater, gold plater, refrigeration designer and fabricator, with 27 years of experience. I couldn't make it work. The "easy" part, getting the silver to spray... not a problem. The issue is with the top coat and UV protection. The silver turns yellow, blushes, or falls off all together, in our "hot Texas sun"... I spent a lot of money and 6 months working with it. I thank God, I never let anything out, to my Customers... I'd have been out of business. Look, if you want a "cheaper way" of letting go of some cash, go to Angel Gilding. They have a system that works and supplies, at a 1/3 of the cost. They are really nice folks, who have been in the mirror making business, for years and years. One other word of advice, keep in mind, the chemicals "DO" have a very limited shelf life. Good luck!
This is NOT the same thing as a FULL DIP ELECTRO- CHEMICAL CHROME BATH in which the whole wheel rim would end up chrome plated - This is THREE PART paint system using a base catalyst - distilled water washes, and a plastic chrome overcoat, and a sealer-hardener with each coat air dried to smooth the layer. Real Electro Plate Chrome if done correctly, has a triple plate process of nickle and copper under the final finish plate which is SHOW CHROME and quite durable if cared for. This process is more or less paint. The final verdict will be just how tough this finish holds up to the rigors of weather extremes, road sand blast, nicks, chips, scratches. Can it hold up on extremely hot engine parts? Also - show chrome is buffed out to a perfect mirror finish by a three step buffing process - this paint is not buffed out and only the air dry process sets the reflective finish, yet upon closer examination - it looks like chrome nail polish. I can see where this would be a huge hit with the furniture industry then chrome painting furniture. However - with the way things are going with world wide concerns over environmental impacts by industry - the Electro-Plate Chrome Bath Process will become extinct... One last point - the costs of these Chemicals to create this fake chrome finish - are NOT CHEAP... like THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS not Cheap... It'll be real interesting to see what spray chrome jobs end up charging for this finish.
+Rene Andre / OH Yeah, - and since nearly all Auto Manufacturers are using ever more mold injected plastic parts, carbon fiber, rubber, and Fiberglas to assemble a vehicle - a cheap quicker way to synthetic plastic-chrome pieces will be essential. Can't CHROME BATH dip plastic. The usage of vacuum chamber, static electro- flash atomized- aluminum plating has been in use since the 1970's - but vacuum chamber size constraints limits the size and number of pieces plated - and that too is not a hardy finish - as most cars guys know because of chrome interior trim fogging, crazing, crackling, pealing and rubbing off with age - they also flash plated the inner reflective surfaces of tail and turn indicator lights...and exterior trim. Some of the shoddiest crappy plastic plating finishes were done by Chrysler and Ford. This is why - any car newer than the mid 1970's is not worth trying to restore - too much plastic and hard rubber.
Holy chrome batman, that was a lot of ...chemicals?... no? respirator or mask or even gloves needed? ...is there an anode / cathode similar to powder painting? and then an Air gun?
Ok so can someone twll me the actual products used here an how do i go about purchasing them. Whats the black spray an then what are the activators and all that other stuff used that i need to turn my rims chrome
Pedro Villahermosa Buenas pedro, en youtube preguntabas por los productos de cromo al agua. Nosotros somos gocrom en España fabricantes de los equipos y productos. www.gocrom.com si te interesa probar el producto comentanos. Un saludo. Arturo GOCROM
First off he is saying Aluminum rims.. like mine .. not steel this is a chemical process for aluminum , plastic ect .. you cant chrome plate aluminum that is eletro plating only for steel .. this is chemical reaction , they use ionised chemicals and deionized water and a chemical neutralizer the process chemically bonds not plates..
Looks to me like it was simply a Plati-Dip rim or something very similar and all he did was use a high pressure cleaner to simply "wash" it off the chrome...........
QUEENBEE doo Belgrade Hi, I'm from Uzbekistan and work with chrome, but my formula is peeling. Could you pass the to me the formula you used to do chrome plating? (I can buy for the money) My email: isfan8621@yahoo.com I will be very grateful.

+lyon406 He doesn't need to. He's been painting without one all his life and will be dead in the next few years. Why bother wearing one now? Besides, the band on the respirator messes up hair when you wear it. The important think here in this video is the process of applying chrome on a wheel!
These spray on chrome deals are a joke...you're NEVER gonna get a viable or durable chrome finish from a can or a spray gun...chroming is a process..and that's all there is to it
don't believe every thing you see on RU-vid ,how come none of the inner wheel has changed colour it got coated with every coat yet it stays black to me it fake
