a medium power inshore rod is equivalent to a medium heavy freshwater rod..just a little fyi.that's why i buy medium 8-17 lb inshore rods most of the time. anything stiffer trout start throwing treble hooks. nice red.
The rod has held up beautifully! Not sure where your hearing the gritty sound, might be the GoPro. The reel is smooth and the drag is amazing!
