It doesn't spin like other reels because its completely sealed like a van staal

Yep, everything is in the manual! Haha, but lets be honest how many of us actually read manuals. Just an honest unboxing of the reel.

Its smooth in the aspect of tight tolerances and good gear meshing, the word your looking for is free spinning which is determined by the sealing at the handle and rotor, its about as free spinning as any van staal

@johnmelendres8974

The reason it doesn't spin freely is because of how sealed it is, it's made to be reeled under water.

I have the 6k version and it’s a beast. My only complaint is that after a solid day of aj fishing that little rubberized knob cover came off. It’s held on by glue so be mindful of that. Other than that it puts the hurtin on fish
@tonyacevedo3149
@tonyacevedo3149 4 года назад
Good to know! I'm sure there may be an aftermarket knob that can be installed on it, but for the price of the reel it would be nice for the original to hold up.

I have had the black one since they came out. I fish it weekly sometimes daily depending on schedule. I don't abuse it like a vs but it's been dunked slammed and dropped. I haven't reeled it in submerged or slammed it in the sand. But I have 0 complaints for the cost. Do I think its bulletproof? Absolutely not but for the way I fish I really enjoy it. And its holding up fine.. what issues have you ran into with it?
@tonyacevedo3149
@tonyacevedo3149 4 года назад
We shall see! I have had the Tsunami Shield for 2 years now ($100 reel) and no issues. I would hope this one holds up way longer than that.

As far as performance, I think it's a great reel. I like bailess reels so this one is just what I bought it for.

Something doesn't seem right with the smoothness of that reel, because the $10 reel that came on my UglyStik GX2 combo is smoother. 😂
@alejandro3485
@alejandro3485 4 года назад
It’s a fully sealed reel. All fully sealed reels will be less smooth than other reels. If you’ve ever used a van staal or a zeebaas they all aren’t silky smooth.
@239peytonn7
@239peytonn7 3 года назад
Your an idiot it’s got seals if you’ve ever fished a staal or a zeebass it’s not smooth because of the seals it gets smoother the more u fish it of course u don’t because u use a gx2 combo
@12askalHarry

After few months rotor shaft striped out !!!!
@Thenewthreat86
@Thenewthreat86 4 года назад
I've owned and use the real since it first was released the real constantly gets debris underneath the rotor which makes the handle nearly impossible to turn at times and very noisy and squeaky I wouldn't dare submerge this real other than that it's a decent real a little heavy and the spool is a little shallow

I hate this reel I bought a 6000 that the line lay never stacks properly no matter if you add or subtract washers.i tried it on two different surf rods and it casted like sh¡T. I never did try it bailess. I think it would work best for a heavy boat rod when lots of drag is needed.
