Try, try, try again. Good passes with no crashes but still under the goal. 40 tooth pinion next time! Thanks to Brian's RC Stuff, I will probably upgrade the bullets to 5mm and get a better battery if the pinion doesn't get us there. #rc #rccar #scalemodel #rchobbies #tamiya #tt02 #speedrun

I keep saying 'gear down' but it's actually up (increasing the ratio) ..I mean less teeth by saying 'down.' Motor sounds good though!🦾

Yup, it's really cool to be learning and having more experienced dudes share their knowledge to get that extra mph. Lights are super cheap.. under $10 on Amazon and they come with the buckets

No doubt the journey can be frustrating but like you said, at least no crashes. One other idea for you, you could consider pre-warming your lip so that there say around 120° or so and that might get you a couple more mph as well.

Yep, another cheap and easy way to gain mph.. I was avoiding doing that because it takes extra time, but I could rig up a bag like you have with a hot bottle in it. I know you understand the frustration if anyone does 😁👍 Thanks for being cool and helpful!😎✌

I read from your comments, that you currently use a gear ratio of 3:1. Thats too much on a high KV motor. The battery cannot deliver such high power. In this class, power is more likely to come from motor rpm. Gear ratio should around 4-4.5:1. Alternatively you could use 2x3S parallel 😉

Ahh, ok. That makes 💯sense. It would have to either be higher ratio or more volts to get the full rpm out of that motor. I just thought getting as close to 1:1 is ideal for speed runs.. but alas, there are many other factors. Thanks! 🫡✌️

Lol no worries bro, gearing is currently 45 tooth pinion and 52 tooth spur at 48 pitch. The stock 40 tooth pinion that came with the 917 roller seems to work better for my combo. I'm not gaining any more mph going 5 teeth up and a stronger motor 🤷

Lol, it's honestly like a GTA server most times of the day 😆 ..almost did the yell for you, but it was like 4:30am and apartments behind me. Ppl would have been like "TF is wrong with this guy?"🤔😆😂
