WE did the spring pocket hole mod 20 years ago to our 72 T/A. Also at the same time added Corvett brake products composite rear springs. Wow what a difference! We did not expect the noise difference. Steel leaf springs are noisy! And they react slowly compared to steel. Saved quite a bit of weight as well.
What's up TTA i've done this job a few times in my driveway wayback in the early 90's If i remember right. The WS6 spring had 5 leaf's and the regular was 4, plus the short plate under the springs that look like another leaf but only like a foot long or whatever. It's been 30ish years since i did the last set in 1995
I am not an expert, but my concern is that with the modifications to the leaf spring bracket will make it weaker and probably brake under load. I hope that I am wrong, and thank you for your videos.
I replaced 81 TA Pace Car with Detroit Speed leaf springs with a 2 inch drop. Also welded in some Summit Racing subframe connectors. Did that back in 2019 . Really helped in the drag racing 60 ft times. Plus I love the lower stance. Cant stand a 2nd gen TA with the factory springs , looks like it’s ready to go off road it sits so high. Almost went with Caltracs but they permanently closed my home track Atlanta Dragway at the end of 2021. Closest track is 2 hrs away., No more drag racing for me and my brother with his 76 LS Turbo TA.
