So the Past in Flames doesnt act like a Underworld Breach giving you access to all the cards in yuor graveyard. It only give access to the cards that were originally in the graveyard when the card was cast. So youd have to Flash back the past in flames before you tried to cast the Chaos warp a second time and the Wheel of Misfortune.
Nice Game! But the Wheel of Misfortune bet was a little off, the bets must be hidden, then all players reveal it at the same time. You can write how much you are betting on a piece of paper and then reveal or put dice on the table with your chosen number on top and conceal it with your hand or with a card until the reveal moment. It's a fun card.
Yup, and i'm pretty sure Olivia paid 0 as well and shouldn't have wheeled either. Cash was also just flash backing shit that went into the grave after Past In Flames without paying the flashback on Past In Flames 🤣 They really need a judge at these games lol.
@@8nykspree honestly that turn really got on my nerves a bit cuz he was playing wayyy too far ahead. Like he wheeled like 4 times before the chaos warp finished resolving which had everybody confused about what was happening
First time doing this but Olivia's Emry should have only cost 1 blue as it costs less for each artifact she controls. I love this show and am always excited for another episode!!
@@legota Perhaps a better response could have been "trueeee, but still was a great game!" Don't need to be so defensive and hostile legota, let's just keep the positive vibes flowin fam! 😊🤙
Video production is getting better every episode ! I've been w ya since day one and it's good to see ya doing better n better each tiime. Tells me you take pride in this, you are open to constructive crit. and you seem to value the community...just like we value you! Great Job! KEEP IT UP! Nuttin' But Luv 4 ya ...
I love this show. I only have one minor gripe. At times, everyone is talking at the same time and I can't enjoy the social interaction when that's happening. Other than that, I hope this channel just continues to grow. I'm excited to see who else you'll have on. Keep up the great work Joe and friends!
Thank you for watching! Yep that’s definitely something we are working on and trying to improve for the future! Glad you’re enjoying the rest! Share with your homies!!! ☺️☺️☺️
I could be wrong but I think that fork was a misplay. Cash used the mana from the resolved Mana Geiser to cast the Fork which means it resolved and could not be forked. That play is legal per the written text but, by the Oracle text, I think Mana Geiser needed to be on the stack in order to be Forked. Proceed to roast me if I'm wrong lol
Also not everyone is dead unless they all dies to the first copy of the spell. Because Cassius dies on the first cast all other spells on the stack are removed from the stack
I can see why Cash was getting mad about the guy armchair coaching. Olivia knows what she is doing and had a great board on her own. There where some misplays but ending in a draw seemed to put everyone in a good mood and that was nice to see.
The three extra people who are always just chatting in the background of these videos are always distracting. The coaching was extra annoying and seemed condescending
Tommy Bahama was definitely dropping knowledge that was useful at times, but the rest was obnoxious. Olivia is a saint for putting up with that. Dude needs to sit back and watch
After watching the last 2 games with Cash, I actually appreciate his view of the game. "I don't want to play Commander if I can't go BIGGADY BIGGADY BUCK BUCK BUCK!!!"
@MightyR.D.B i got what you are saying! I didnt mean nerd in bad way, but, infortuanlly, the division was there back then when i was a kid and its there today...
In the mid 90s... WotC had their flagship "store"/gaming dungeon, this is giving Great Dalmutti vibes... ahhh, those were the days. I definitely didn't skip entire weeks of school spending it at WotC playing all of the MtG.
i love how olivia doesnt miss a beat in diving into the food haha. also i think the last thing you want to hear after kias says to play with yourself is to hear breha's coming haha
How are there so many mistakes? Yea yea magic is complex, but this room has so much experience in it. Always a surprise how people with so much invested in the game can be so oblivious to the fabric and minutiae. Love this community and just want the best. Cheers
Probably lots of people just saying "fuck it" and letting shit slide. Better experience if everybody is having fun playing wrong than arguing playing right.
There also seemed to be a slight hint of animosity on the table. So people probably weren't thinking 100% plus the distraction from the peanut gallery probably doesn't help. Seemed like Cass was slightly beefing with the Hawaiin shirt dude.
Haha! It’s nothing that exciting, honestly. Maybe a local thing here? We all call the greaves the Js/ Jordan’s/ etc. Anyway, had to blur em for the same sad list of reasons I gotta cover up the music in the background: copyright/ conflict/ inappropriate content blah blah. I missed it on set, DEFINITELY won’t do that again 🤦🏼♂️ spent the better part of my day responding to this question
Our new editor is incredible at bunching up the comedy moments. Some of the zoom ins are because we have to make a cut for silly reasons. Mic pack runs out of batteries, spilled beer, dog barking it’s head off and it’s echoing at ear piercing volume throughout the entire bar 🙉
I think although the argument about the stack is relevant, having Torbran out with Furnace means that the Acidic Soil does 6 damage per land each opponent controls, and 2 damage per land Cassius controls. When that resolves, the whole table dies anyways. So the end argument is really just about semantics and for future reference if such an occurance happens again. Awesome game either way. Loved seeing Olivia choose violence in the most blinged out way, and almost winning as a secondary pursuit.
Nope. Acidic Soil does NOT do ping damage. Ping damage is where one card deals its damage in multiple instances. Cards that separate their damage, such as Arcane Missile, can ping. Acidic Soil does all of its damage in one shot. It does X damage where x is the number of lands that player controls. In this case it does 2(x+2) to opponents and 2x to Cash.
Cash made some game mistakes at 17:13 he attempted to fork Mana geyser before he got the mana to pay for it. when the spell resolves he would gain the mana from geyser not before.
There was a copy of Mana Geyser on the stack from pyromancers goggles. He let the copy resolve, then held priority and used the mana to fork the original
So cool...for future episodes please get more extra people at the table and turn their volume up. Hearing them mumbling and getting involved in what people are playing makes the experience so much more fun
@@dylanpittman2907 lol no, it's old card so wording is confusing, it has been reworded since into: Acidic Soil deals damage to each player equal to the number of lands they control. So basically, number of lands +2, not number of lands x4
@@nikolamatasin3877 if a red source would deal damage, it deals that much damage plus one, and if damage would be dealt to a player or creature, it is doubled. So each land is 4 points of damage.
I don't think cash was allowed to use the mana he got from the mana geyser to cast fork and copy the mana geyser, since it had already resolved... Please correct me if I'm wrong. Min 17:10
It's been a while, but Cash had Pyromancer's Goggles in play to make a copy of Mana Geyser. Copy resolves first, then Fork the OG Mana Geyser. At least that's what I think happened.
Major umbrage on this game the Torbran & Furnace. The player or permanent's controller that would take the damage chooses how the damage modifiers applies to them & permanents to control. Olivia should have won. Acidic Soil deals 1 damage per land doubled, then two extra damage from Torbran.
I WISH it was a promo coming out soon. Sadly nothing that exciting. I had to blur it for the same sad list of reasons I have to cover up the music: copyright/ conflict/ inappropriate content/ blah blah/ etc etc. I missed it on set 🤦🏼♂️
On turn 4, I don’t think Cash could actually do what he did. He didn’t have the mana to fork his mana geyser with the spell on the stack. He couldn’t have went off that turn like he did. Fork’s Oracle text is “Copy target instant or sorcery spell, except that the copy is red. You may choose new targets for the copy.”
Nvm, I saw that pyromancer’s googles were used for mana geyser, so that would work with the copy on the stack. Letting the copy resolve, then using that mana for the fork, for the original.
Nothing that exciting, honestly. I had to blur Michaels sleeve for the same sad list of reasons I have to cover up the music: copyright/ conflict/ inappropriate content/ blah blah/ etc etc. I missed it on set 🤦🏼♂️definitely won’t do that again.
Is Cass supposed to be able to Fork the Mana Geyser at 17:28? He's using the Mana Geyser mana to cast Fork, which would mean that he wouldn't be able to target the Geyser to copy it and get as much mana as he did. Am I correct?
cash owns a card shop but doesn't know how his cards work.1 you gotta pay a life to crack a fetch 2 blood moon takes away myriad landscapes ability, 3totally butchered wheel of misfortune, 4 chaos warp didn't have flashback, 5 he should have been dead due to bastion of remmemberence. so he basically messed up each of his turns while making the game miserable due to bloodmoon and to top it off he complains about others trying to help people play correctly.
Fairly certain he used mana from mana geyser to play the fork on mana geyser. The spell would have had to resolve for the mana to be in his pool to cast fork, and so would not have been on the stack to be forked. Given that he used that mana to make more with past in flames and then wheeled that misplay significantly altered the game. Edit: to be fair, as I think about it, he could have achieved the similar results by using the geyser mana to past in flames and then geyser and fork. He'd have gotten one fewer geyser overall, not having the fork in graveyard when past in flames resolved. He did flash that back later to play more spells that hit his yard after. So he could have chosen to flash it earlier for the mana instead of later for the spells. All in all he still popped off a bit harder than he should have.
@@andrewgolubiewski3463 i thought that two but it works with the copy form the googles. makes mana off the copy they copys the original. but he was fucking up left and right. definitely not a deck he should be playing.
We got a ton of misplays here. Olivia isn't tapping the goldspan she attacked with unless I missed something that gave it vig. And cash cracked a myriad landscape with blood moon on board. I thought there was a judge present lol
You're right and there were a couple more even, but they are humans afterall. Commander is a casual format compared to the pro tour which have many high levels judges. I mean I probably make more misplays with and without knowing it
Hey Jakob! Unfortunately I have to blur out sleeves/alters/ logos from certain brands due to copyright, conflict, etc etc (insert list of the same sad reasons I have to cover up music playing in the background). This is the first time we missed it on set and that’s on me. It looks weird but we’ll be better next time. And apologies for the copy/paste. Lotta people curious on this one.
Matteo nailed it. Maybe an LA thing? We all call the greaves the Js/ Jordans/ Black Force 1s. But yeah, I had to blur it for the same boring and unsexy reasons as I have to cover up the music in the background: copyright/ conflict/ inappropriate content/ blah blah/ etc etc. I missed it on set 🤦🏼♂️ so many folks showed to this hangout I just wiffed on spotting it.
And not to be a rules freak, but everyone missed this one too even though it was discussed. With Pyromancer's Goggles would make a copy of Finale, which would let you pick one additional sorcery and one additional instant that would be cast and copied. So you would get to play 2 instants and 2 sorceries, each being copied once. You wouldn't want to pick the same ones because they get exiled when they are cast the first time.
@@ReyaadawnMTG Cassius says hes a good player (tongue in cheek) but for all the money he spends and owns a shop, makes so many misplays, like every turn every card. Comon Brah.
I had to rewind all the way back to the beginning of the big Cash play to capture the myriad of misplays 📋 Using the Geyser mana to pay for fork, flash backing Chaos Warp and Wheel of Misfortune that went into the grave after Past In Flames, misplaying Wheel Of Misfortune horrifically TWICE, and probably something else I missed 🤣 I would consider getting a judge on hand to monitor these games because there are 3, ostensibly, good players who aren't playing and watching this all happen without realizing up to the point Kessler caught the Past in Flames misplay. Good vibes all around though 👍
@@martenyus lmao 🤣🤣🤣 somehow i missed that. I'm a little disappointed in Cash's level of play on this show tbh. He's starting to come off as someone who builds a strong list he finds online and doesn't fully grasp the level of gameplay and mechanics required to make the deck function.
I love all the banter and the comedy in this. Hate being that guy but when olivia made her treasures they would of turned into Angel's instead. Great episode keep it up.
Said it in the patreon comment section and I'll say it here. ABSOLUTE FIRE CONTENT! Joe you are killing it my man, love the energy and love the guests! This is exactly how my friends and I play magic :) Except I'm always public enemy #1 LOL
as much as i love this game they messed up. Olivia should have won. When the first copy of the red spell went off cassius would have died and all other spells on the stack of his would have been exiled. plus there was so many other misplays in this game because no one ever pays attention to the game. Other then that it does seem like they are at least having fun
Acidic Soil no longer reads 1 damage per land. It’s not a separate instant of damage per land. So Michael and Olivia would have survived the first spell on the stack with the rest of the stack exiling once Marsh died from the first spell. Olivia would have probably won on her next turn.
