Mirzaji, once again, a million thanks. I heard this song early this year on another channel after 60 years( give or take), but your post comes with a video clip. What a gift to men like me who were kids in 1948!
amazingly sweet song, my grandfather used to love this song, I am 37 years and I still have a sense of amazement with the sweet memories it brings back to me of the yesteryear songs and those valve radios which we used to listen to. than a ton you tube
Those days are gone forever from Guyana. I have left there since 1976 and have never gone back but what I hear is both encouraging and at the same time very sad in that things are not the way I would like to remember Guyana but nothing never stays the same. Just hold on to those memories of your childhood.
Itne varshon baad bhi is gaane ki khoobsurati aur lokpriyata bani hui hai...suraiya aur shaam kumar-jo apni khalnayaki ke liye jane jate the- ki awaaz men ek sadabahar geet....!
Suraiya ...lovely voice. I am happy there are many like me who share the pleasure of listening to old id gold songs.Only we know how deep rooted these songs are ! raghu
Sham Kumar n Surrya,,,,,,Sham Kumar was very tall n sturdy handsome hero,,,,,unluckily died while shooting one film SHABBASHTAN,,,,,,fell from very fast running hours,,,,if he has existed might have been more popular the DilipKumar the great,,,,,,,any how,,,law of nature,,,,,,wish them all the best where ever they are now,.
even our first p m Jawarharlal nehru was given reception by suraiya when he went for study to vilayat ( U K ) he ate a piece of water melon with the hands of suraiya. thank you
Shyam was regarded as one of the most good-looking leading men of Hindi cinema by old timers. Hindi cinema historians are certain that if not for his untimely death when he fell off a horse while shooting for Shabistan (1951), the face of Hindi cinema in the 1950s would have been very different, as at the time, Shyam was as big a star as the Trimurti that would rule Hindi cinema in the 50s - Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor.
interesting to know. Like Shyam in the movie whenever saw him. Too bad he passed away like the way you described. What were his movies (please list all if you can). thks

You are my moon and I am your moonlight I am your song and you are my Music To fell in love is not hilarious To live and die together is a tradition of love The flute of (our) love is always singing the song of your attraction to me Do not forget this lovely season, these days and nights As long as these stars and moon shine, our ways are not separated
IMIRZA777, you are really a very great person. you have posted a zabardast old song. this old song brings back the days of jawani.both actor and actress looks so laajawab in black and white video. thank you so much janab for posting this great old song, this is aman dayani from toronto canada.
Sham Kumar was very handsome actor but died while shooting of one film n accidental fall from fastly running horse,,,,it was said if he was alive later on he could has been better than DilipKumar,.
@orientlover1 The boy was also an actor - in serial Nukkad - called Guru - heard he has also expired ? He also played various roles in other films but not attained the heights of his late father !
I wish I could have the entire song explanation of the song and the words. I remember as a teenagers we would sing this song and sometimes play the record and my cousin and I would dance to it.
Dillagi means something close to infatuation+flirtation-- distinguished from dil ka lagana, which is closer to the English expression" to love." So the line " Nahin dil ka lagaana koi dillagi" means "loving someone can not be as superficial or cavalier as flirting."
@orientlover1 I stand corrected in flency I dedicated this song to Rafi Ji yo are absolutely correct Thanks any way, I have seen this movie many a times rather have the DVD still with me
Its not Rafi but shyam kumar, after all Rafi sahib sang three more songs of the same film like is dunia mein a dil walo, tery kochay mein armano ki duniya ley key and zalim zamana mujh ko, one can easily differentiate the voice whether voice is sweet or not
