When I have an hours time free, I'm gonna watch this!! It's probably just as informative and fun as the other video haha. I'm glad you made this video. I just realized you have more videos about this washer!! That's awesome!
Just a heads up that the video cycle playlist isn’t that exciting. I made those videos to demonstrate how the machine operates and to answer questions. Some folks have said it’s like relaxation therapy watching our laundry spin and swish around. Ha!
@@BruceAlanR hehe. It's good to watch so I can "compare" how my machine washes with yours. To see if there's any major difference. I subscribed to your channel! You deserve more subs! :)
My washer just put a little water in the basket and then sat there for 20 mins until I finally shut it off and put it through a normal cycle and it’s only a few weeks old I’m probably gonna call them tomorrow.. I’m glad this video was here bc I can see the washer is not supposed to be sitting doing nothing.. at first I thought is it soaking the washer, but after 20 mins that’s way too much soaking ….lol..
Ive read before on the lg website that we can clean the machine with white vingear by starting a cycle with hot water, and once it fills, to hit PAUSE, and to then add 4 cups of white vinegar and leave it sit for an hour before pressing play again. Only from my experience... The machine just shuts off after afew minutes with the water still in it. Does yours do this too? These directions are listed on LGs website but for some reason youtube wont let me post the link 😅 Thank you for your amazing videos!
Ha! It’s odd that LG would recommend that for this model because it has a safety feature that drains the tub after 5 minutes of inactivity to prevent property damage. The only way to override it is to unplug the machine once the tub fills, which I don’t recommend. So the short answer would be yes, my machine does that. You can use white vinegar for the TUB CLEAN cycle (which is what I used to do), but I’ve found designated washing machine cleaners to work better.
I really enjoy your videos. I just purchased the wt7800ct model and have used your videos to figure out things. You had mentioned in a previous video that you made a cheat sheet. Would you be able to share it with me? Thanks.
Any recommendations/tutorial on why the washer is leaving stains on my clothes after a wash. I looked it up and it says it’s because I wash with cold water only and it’s detergent buildup. Please heeelllppp!
The only thing I can recommend is running the Tub Clean more often. While LG recommends running the Tub Clean every 30 loads, it may be necessary to run it more often if you only do cold water washes.
Have you been having issues with this washer? I've done everything to clean it but I am seeing a lot of people remove the agitator plate from the bottom to clean it. Have you tried that?
I have not had to disassemble the washer to deep clean it. I attribute that to running the tub clean cycle monthly and leaving the lid up and detergent tray pulled out after each load; however, every situation is different. For example, even if some folks do as I do, there’s still a propensity that mold and odors will develop if the machine “lives” in a location that is perpetually damp (ie, a humid basement or humid climate). In those cases, the tub just can’t dry out. Out of curiosity (because I like mechanics) I have watched a few of the videos where the impeller and tub are removed from this machine. While I’m impressed with LG’s design and how easy it is to disassemble, it by no means excuses the fact that people have had reason to disassemble their machines to remove mold, residue, and “crud.” What that tells me is they need better seals so that nothing gets below the impeller and they also need to provide a more through method to clean or at least dry the outside of the stainless tub. Thanks for the question!
If unbalanced loads are occurring frequently, check that your washer is perfectly level front to back and also side to side using a level. If the washer is not perfectly level, it will noticeably rock as it ramps up to high spin. You will also notice the tub spinning off center when using Low or Medium spin speeds as well as during the sensing segment. I am working on a video to demonstrate how to properly level this machine. I moved our machine a few inches last weekend and didn’t take the time to re-level it. Consequently, our machine rocked so hard that the hose clamp connecting the tub to the drain pump disconnected. The tub drained onto the floor. 😕 So after mopping up the water, I removed the back panel, reconnected the hose, and then properly leveled the machine. Avoidable problem solved, but a major headache either way. Stay tuned!
My washer seems to keep leaving what looks like little bits of black dried leaves all over things each time we wash things but I have no idea where in the washer this gunk is coming from since it’s not on the clothes what they go in. If this model doesn’t have a filter to clean, where else can I look? Any idea how to fix this and what it might be?
As you said, there is no lint filter on this machine. Black dried leaves? I’ve only occasionally had white lint on dark clothes, which occurs when I accidentally put a water resistant garment (ie, wind breaker) in that doesn’t allow water to fully escape the load. The only thing I can recommend is to run the tub clean a few times and see if that solves the issue.
But what can you do if you already have the mildew smell because you never did this process? I have since tried it and Bleach, but I can not get rid of the smell. It did get better. Any suggestions or do I just call a pro?
Before you call someone, I recommend getting Tide or Affresh washing machine cleaner and running the Tub Clean cycle two or three times. I’ve found they work better than bleach. Also, remove and clean the entire detergent tray (pull out then lift up while pulling). If you have a steam cleaner, use it to clean the inside of the tub (if you don’t have a steam cleaner wipe down all surfaces inside the tub with white vinegar, then rinse with a sponge).
If your clothes are still wet after the spin segment, you likely have a waterproof garment in the load, which is preventing the water from being spun out. Identify the garment , remove it, and then run a SPIN only cycle by closing the lid, pressing and holding the SPIN button for 3 seconds, and then pressing ⏯.
Any ideas for why after a cleaning cycle it is bringing gunk up through the base of the machine and it’s sitting at the bottom of the machine tub? Is there a way to remove the drum and clean underneath?
I can’t say for sure, but unlike some machines, this one does not have a filter that occasionally needs cleaning. I recommend wiping the tub and running the TubClean cycle again. If it gunk comes up again, run the test cycle to see if maybe the drain hose is clogged.
I agree. Never had problems with mold and mildew in any of my washing machines in the pass until these new he washers came along both front loader and top loader
It may also have to do with climate and where in the house the washer “lives.” For example, our basement is humid in the summer; however, I run a dehumidifier so the humidity never gets above 60%. We have a front loader at a place near the ocean where things never dry and the front loader always smells bad. We’re constantly wiping mold from the rubber gaskets and detergent trays.
I think it’s because the lid is closed all of the time. I was always taught to leave the lid open. I’ve always followed that rule with front load, and top load machine’s, and I have never had a problem with mold, mildew, or odor in any of my washers. With that being said, we do have hard water, so I still clean my machine every 30 days, and add 1/2 cup of citric acid while it’s running on the clean cycle.
Don't worry the washer never fills to the top with water anyway. I should be grateful to have such a nice washing machine. Truth be told? I h@+# the thing.
I used to use 1/2 cup of bleach since that’s the maximum amount the detergent drawer can handle. If you want to use more, for example 2/3 cup, put it into the bleach dispenser. I use Tide or Affresh now since it leaves the tub fresher and removes residue better. Bleach is fine if you don’t have any other options though.
That is correct; however, if you were to run a Normal cycle or any cycle other than the TubClean, the machine’s sensing technology wouldn’t provide enough water to clean the tub.
wher do u get the elbow-grease? no body seems to have it... i even checked Amazon? is it b'cuz we seem to be living in a socialist country now and elbow grease is a thing of the past?
