American Ambassadors to the Jazz World! These guys are TRUE to the old time jazz most of the world had forgotten about. Resurrecting old hits with extremely proficient musicians, these folks revive music so we can again enjoy them with the same appreciation and enthusiasm as when they were first played. Love this one...man that guy on the clarinet or idk it's so great and the trumpet the washboard pretty great and the VOCALS killer...banjo spot on so dixy. And the trombone so vital and to your bones makes me feel the music in my soul and the guitar soulful really gluing it together the harmony of collective musicians VOCALS just artistry...a gorgeous vibration that comes into your eyes and ears and settles in your soul and bolts to your moving parts cause you can't help but wanna shake something why even the dead hear this they GUNNA get up and dance I guarantee..I reckon this is what has always given me new life, like an old bouquet of dried up dead roses I hear this music and it breathes oxygen and all things vibrant colorful joyful soulful and rightness back into this girl. For that and this and this and that I thank you from the bottom of my heart ..
Washboard players don't seem to need any musical talent to play and I wonder if they get a full share when splitting up the meager gig receipts? It would be nice if the City of New Orleans provided a stipend to help struggling street musicians since they help the tourist industry.

I am a big fan of Tuba Skinny. I once drove from Vancouver to Cancun . We made a stop at Chichén Itzà. One of the seven wonders of the world. Climbing the pyramid is fairly easy. The scary part is coming down. It is quite steep. ⚠

WOW - discovered this after watching ‘Lost Dog Street Band’. I love the way the 2 ladies kick their feet around, reminds me of Flapper girls. Damn how tall is that banjo player. Keep the tunes coming please. And that smile on Dizzy’s face at 3.14 at the end of solo - beautiful.
At the beginning You can Hear all the noise of the street market. One minute later everybody only have hears . Great Young people making great old music.

And that clarinet he's playing on, what kind of metal clarinet is it? I play tuba, but I've got a metal clarinet for fun and such. Also, good idea on NOT bringing the BAT (big a$$ tuba) down south. I sometimes wish I'd have my 20-j with me in Macedonia right now, but I'll find a helicon, I have to!
He really has Chops on the clarinet they all are incredible, been addicted since I found them 3 months ago now working on starting a NOLA band here in Hawaii..
ive always considered the washboard to be like a tambourine .. something you give to the least talented player .. but Dizzy has made me feel different She is very talented and makes it sound great
I am a huge fan of Tuba Skinny. Of the hundred or more tunes I've listened to them do, I can recall only one rag. What I'm saying is they are a jazz band, not a ragtime band. Thanks much for the upload.
everyone loves Dizzy the washboard queen ... so now i ve seen her in this band YesMaam and Mr Gun and the pistol packin mamas ... kinda makes me think she plays with who ever is out there playing ???
another upward thumb for perhaps the best band on this planet...............currently...anyway and through it all there was Erika and Shaye. They are the core , as i see it of this fabulous band..time this group goes nationwide..

I believe there are better uses of the washboard like washing clothes in a primitive non-electric society. However, it doesn't seem to caught on with the people along rivers and streams who use big stones to bash the dirt away or the Asians who use big tubs and their dancing feet.
Oldie but a goodie. Fun to see Shaye, Barnabas, Erika and Todd from 8 years ago. Some of those folks are not with the current cast. The washboard player looks like Dizzy Incirlioglu with Shake 'Em Up Jazz Band
I'd pay money to see this....wow if PT Barnum was alive he's put you at the top of the bill. Very impressed with the washboard and singer, all of you. New Orleans sound is great.
