So happy that you have created your own channel, always enjoyed watching you on Mark’s channel. Great first video and really enjoyed how you explained what you are working on.
Hell yeah Jake, killed it for your first video man!!! HG,HK,HT MONARO the pinacol of Holden is correct, been my dream car since I was young!! Can't wait to see how it turns out, along with all the other jobs and builds! Stoked you've made a channel mate, keep killing it!!
Thanks mate! That ve in the corner is one of my absolute favourite cars! I used to daily it a couple years back, if I smash out enough work this year I’ll do a mini build on it, I’ve been collecting parts slowly
Haha thanks bro, I’m slowly buying parts and bits and pieces for a revamp of the car, I’ll probably start getting it ready for paint as soon as the Monaro is rolling
Nice work mate, congrats on the channel, always wondered when you would start your own as you always seem to be in everyone else’s content👌 Very keen to see your tricks of the trade, an get some more inspiration
All the best with your own channel 😁 Be good if you done your own video on your Burgundy VL build on your own channel also video of it at summernats and an update on how the car is after summernats etc
I reckon I’ll have to blow the dust off it soon! On a slow week I’ll do a little update on the old girl, I got back from nats and drove it till it ran out of fuel and parked it 😂
Good stuff i love it i wouldnt mind some 15inch tyres on my vc valiant ute cant wait till u start the MONARO ❤im a mopar man but who in there right mind dosent love a HKTG MONARO 💪💪
Loving this already bro keen to see the in-depth vids on tubs and bays I’ve done some myself but definitely keen to see how others approach and go about it 👌🏼👌🏼
Mate love your workshop! I get old mate that owns the HG to paint the top Rad support panel Black, they look weird from the front when all assembled if they are body colour!
I'm not here to tell you how to do your job, but watering concrete with a pressure washer is a bit over the top mate. Love the content so far and very impressed with your explanations. Thank Mark @ Iron Empire for bringing me here, Cheers Jake for being multitalented !!!
Thanks boss! Sunday the next one will be out! That’s a loaded question because it depends what you want included, eg just the tin work or the diff too or maybe a coilover rear you know, but to give you an idea in the rear end in the video including spare tyre well delete and shortening the diff all up I’m at $3800 in labour
hi jake back in the 80s i had 4 monaros at one time 2 hks ,a ht and a hg one of the hks i payed 100 $ for just missing the front bucket seats 6cly the other hk was a freebee no motor or gearbox and it had a hr diff in it the tyres rubbed almost thru the inner guards the ht was half complete and the hg was just a shell now i cant afford abloody door handle cars where so cheap in the 80s and they were everywhere
Thanks for doing in depth on the early commodore stuff -- makes me regret not going a split tub to get some more meat under the rear on mine! Question I did have -- that diff in the VK looks like a salisbury 8 bolt? Is there much to strengthening those? I know the gemini guys usually go billet axels but center wise doesnt seem like there's many options? Look forward to more content - cheers!
Cheers mate, I’ve got a whole video on early commodore stuff for tomorrow! The commodore BorgWarner diffs are pretty good with some 31 spline axels and a fresh centre
Are you a spray painter by trade ? How do y colour match without tinting system. That yellow can b a cnt sometimes When y explained the tubs an stuff but more info on wt y did when shit is double or tripled layered an the best way to figure out where to cut.. keeping shit neat throughout is an acquired skull I reckon Does your workshop do a fair bit of turnover ? I wish I could drop 10k on car parts I figured U just had the right idea an a house full somewhere. Props to y man keep at the vlogs eh
Hey man, nah I’m just a boilermaker by trade, yea yellow and silver are the worst! Haha sometimes the colours don’t work or you have to blend every time. I will do some more in-depth fab tutorials soon and explain that stuff!
Haha i honestly just didn’t film any of the other pad work, I sorta thought it would just get a bit too long winded, but I’m still learning what to chuck in the videos and what not, I’ll find the formula soon haha
Hey man do you do paint jobs for customers? I got a vn Calais I’d love to have resprayed it’d need grey and white done, door jams and windows out yo treat a bit of rust coming up
Finally, keen to see you do some of your own content and show off your skill set 👍 Looks like your flat out but if your ever keen on doing a smaller cashie job let me know and ill hit you up on insta, Got a couple of bumpers and boot lips ill need done in the coming months and would rather support a bloke such as yourself whose supporting the local lads over any crash shop
