Main features:

Midi in- and output. Can output key presses, arpeggiator and sequencer.
Additional Accent Envelope: Programmable accent for volume and filter with adjustable decay.
Additional filter LFO A triangular LFO with the high range of 0.2Hz - 8kHz can modulate the filter
Additional ADSR for filter: Completely independent envelope with adjustable parameters
Improved Sequencer:now has 32 sequences with 120 Steps each
Song mode: Sequences can be chained to create a “Song” and programmed live
More sequencer and arp modes: Forward, backward, random, ping-pong,..
A lot of midi controllable parameters, velocity can be mapped to 9 different targets including accents, filter and 2nd ADSR
Midi filter, pitch bend, arp and s/h-lfo control
Clock dividers for internal arp clock and trigger including din-sync compatible divider
Settings via an internal configuration menu or external midi controller.
Extra features accessible using the existing SH-101 controls
Comes with sticker overlays and all necessary parts
Easy to install in any SH-101 and compatible with analogue mods

This is INCREDIBLE. I see you're working on an MC-202 mod. I am definitely interested in this - I've had an MC-202 forever and I love it but it's a complete pain in the ass to use :D

Hi, stoked on my sh1oh1! Question though. I can't seem to get the internal clock synched to an external midi source (octatrack) your video doesn't really go into it. Could you possible clarify? Also wondering if a sequence can be triggered via external midi signal? Thanks a lot!

You can not sync the internal clock/lfo, but you can sync the arp. sequencer and random lfo to midi clock. Have a look at 'arp/seq clock source' in the manual

I am also having a similar issue. I cant sync sequencer/arp to external clock. When I make the adjustments stated in the manual the sequencer just stops running. If I then hit the factory reset it goes back to normal behavior, so I know I'm at least making some adjustment. Is there something I need to select in addition to the key that selects for "midi clock"?

@@tubbutec Hi! Thanks for the cool upgrade. So im a little confused with the manual. - in order to sync from an external midi clock source (like akai mpc1000 for example) with our Sh1oh1's internal sequencer, we need to push "page up " and then choose "arp /seq midi"? Any tips would be greatly apprecaited.

@@timtapsell First you need to access the config menu by pressing KEY TRANSPOSE and HOLD at the same time. Then press the U&D key to acces the U&D config page. Now press the key m.clock for "ARP&SEQ clock source" (it is a D#). The ARP/SEQ midi button in the "UP" page is to set the Midi clock divider.

After the change, you need to restart the incoming midi clock of course (to send a midi START message)

Is it possible to install the new CPU without installing the MIDI jacks? I'd like the additional features, but don't need MIDI (I can still use CV/Gate).

+zibbybone yes, you can detach the midi jacks and install the SH-1oh1 without them. If you later decide that you would like to have midi you can always plug them back in.

+Pure Sonic The stereoping controller has soft midi through capabilities - you can connect your DAW to its midi in.

hi! this looks amazing. I'd like to know if you *need* to use the separate ADSR envelope for the filter or if you can switch between the stock behavior (one ADSR) or having independent ADSRs for filter & amplitude. part of the beauty of the SH101 of course is the simplicity! but then you'd have the option for more flexibility when you need it :) please let me know!

All stock features are still there ! With the additional ADSR amount set to 0, it won't change the behaviour of the original 101. You can combine both the original and the new ADSR, or use the original ADSR for volume only and the new one for the filter only ( by putting the ENV AMT slider of the VCF to 0)

hi, is the portamento/glide available via midi control? i'm not seeing it on the midi controller chart in the manual

Hi, when the portamento switch is set to auto, the 101 turns it on when playing legato. So when controlling the 101 over midi you just do the same. Just turn on the next note before turning off the last and portamento will be turned on.

Hello tubbutec, fantastic work! I watched this video, checked yur site and browsed the user's manual, and I don't understand: how can I switch between the original envelope or LFOs, and the additional ones featured in the mod? How do I access your additional features?

+Kei Naarr The additional LFO and ADSR for the filter are controlled using midi controller messages. You can use any midi controller or DAW to control them. You can of course use the original and additional LFO/ADSR simultaneously

That clears it up, but I'm still a bit confused because your wesbite says "Extra features accessible using the existing SH-101 controls" - and also, "Settings *via an internal configuration menu* or external midi controller". So how to I set which ADSR / LFO I'm tweaking, using a MIDI controller or the kb?

+Kei Naarr yes correct. And all other settings are in fact configurable via a configuration menu. The reason LFO and ADSR are not: Their parameters need a fine resolution and you usually want to be able to change settings quickly. It would be very inconvenient to use a menu here.

Cool buddy, do you know there's a extra wave form on the oscillator, That roland never implemented, all it need's is to be wired up and a switch put onto the panel, to get it to work, check this video out for the mod,Synthesiser Dave - Episode 1 - Roland SH101
