I thought the same already in the earlier episode where the open baffles where introduced… so much reverberation😱.. I don’t know whether that’s only a sonic illusion and perhaps it’s not objectively assessable by a YT video but to me it sounds as if the listening room is not treated acoustically at all, is it?
@@aui75 Definitely not treated, not meant to be disrespectful but trying to evaluate any sonic differences in a room like that would be difficult. I would think it would cause listener fatigue too.
Ummm the room wasn't in the signal chain as outlined in the video and below the video in the description (it was recorded directly off the Universal 6or12SL7 Prototype Kit Preamp.. I agree however that it is a lively room, plaster walls and ceiling, real hardwood floors, largish space. What's interesting is "The Church" Capital Records preferred recording venue in New York city at the time was very lively with a vaulted dome in the centre of the recording studio, so lively that they built a baffle and designed it so that it could be raised or lowered to acoustically adjust the affect of all that bounce! But and here's the big but, some of the greatest recordings of the 1950's were made in that old church and to my ears they sound great.
@@tubelab194 As long as you know you're allowing artifacts that aren't in the recording to reach your ears, no matter where the recording was made. If you like it, that's all that matters.
