Just my opinion of course, but you aren't it the room and can't shout at me, so I'm sticking with it. Happy Holidays, Andy! Fun track there. I think Tubesynth is pretty cool too. It has some stuff you don't often find on a VA synth, like a filter slope that can be set to values other than 6/12/24 dB, and continuously variable waveforms. Glad to see someone make a video just to appreciate this one.

It's really a pretty powerful synth once you get under the hood. I also appreciate Hype a lot more now that I've started making patches from scratch with it. But I have to say... you NEED NEED NEED to try Jura and Mini D! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all that jazz!

I'll second the Jura and Mini D. I loved the demos but decided at the time that the Delay Pro was what I needed more. Soon though the Jura at least. The Tube Synth I do love. I write out my midi track in other tools and then import it later and the Tube synth wins out a lot more often on the sound creation.

Those are fairly giant caveats! Mini-D is by far a very solid Moog Model D emulation, and the fact that it runs so smooth on Force (and MPC’s) SoC is pretty impressive. But its strengths (IMHO) are in bass. Jura on the other hand is likely my favorite Force/MPC plugin. Just a super solid Juno 60/106 emulation, and while not perfect, it captures the sonic essence and is just BRILLIANT on arps and pads. Try it! Some fantastic presets too. But it’s nice to see old TubeSynth getting some love.

I would love to put them on my Force, but made my mind up not to buy them as they are currently offered. I think Akai should do half price versions that are hardware only and don’t come with a VST version - I’ve got Moog and Juno plug-ins on my PC already, I wouldn’t even install the AIR ones so don’t want to be paying a premium for something I won’t use. I know that sounds picky, but I can’t see a reason why Akai can’t give us the option!

I use Tubesteak the most, then the Odyssey. I thought it sounded bad until I turned all of the effects off, zeroed out the preset, and started just programming it. I use macros to control multiple parameters at once, like all EGs decay and release, and cranking up the overall volume as the pluck time shortens to approximate its presence in the mix.

Yep exactly the same here. They have set the detune too hight on most of the presets too…

Great work. Tubesynth was the reason I sold my Skulpt…. Twice. Bought another one and realised again I didn’t like the sound. Will definitely download the project and take a little look. For the record, Mini D is tasty and downloaded the Jura demo, was blown away with it actually. One for next year. For now, Delay Pro is now on the Force.

I think the filter lets the Skulpt down, thought the oscillators sounded ok and the tweakability is nuts, but that digital filter is garbage! I hate to use this term, but it sounded very digital and not in a good way like the Hydrasynth or Digitone.

I was less offended by the filter, the mono output for me made it too brittle sounding. I loved the workflow unlike most. Modal’s oscillators are unique (as maybe the company is now they’re in administration 😢/ restructuring) and once thru an effect or 2 it was decent. But load up Tubesynth and it’s just alive compared to it. Makes you work for your effort with such a small mod matrix as well but there’s something right about its sound.
