I was glad to get off the fault line and then 15 or 20 years ago I started feeling them at first Oklahoma tried to deni it had quakes. I knew that was bs. Yeah, it was amazing how fast Marijuana dispensaries covered my city. When I heard about this proclamation to make Recreational Marijuana legal, I was flabbergasted because by this point I thought it already was, if the advertising on a bunch of these shops was to be believed. I'm even more shocked that they voted against it. As for the excuse about the denial being a boon to our mental health, I have to laugh. Oklahoma's governing body doesn't give a damn about its citizen's physical health, much less its mental health. They think that's what prisons are for.

I'm French. We pay all our working life a small percentage of our wages to finance the pensions of the elder people who are in age of retiring. You actually have to work and pay for 43 years in order to get a full pension. So if you started late (due to college studies or else), you may retire at the age of 64 or 65 which is my case. Most European countries have a similar system. Government wants to abruptly add two more years of work, which is not well received over here. And of course, the media being what they are, they think the country is paralized with strikes. I can tell you it's not!

They are hoping that whatever judgment they receive in court will not make them take back their lies on the air. Although it's worth keeping in mind that elections are sometimes scheduled at strange times with the objective of getting a low turnout and obtaining a result from only the most diehard voters--who are typically conservatives. In my state all the major offices are filled during the mid-terms, most of the judicial elections coincide with primary elections, and the school board elections aren't anywhere close to November.

Oklahoma is way ahead of Texas regarding marijuana laws. Any adult with a couple hundred dollars and a M.D.’s signature can get a medical card and legally buy marijuana from a privately owned dispensary. That and the fact Oklahoma has what’s called a ballot initiative which is how marijuana, and Medicaid expansion, etc, were put on the ballot in the first place. Oklahoman’s have a way around it’s politicians, Texans don’t.
