PSA: -> Hoopa-Unbound's Hyperspace Fury does not go through substitutes as Darkinium Z. -> Entei only gets Extreme Speed if its Adamant Shiny. So i would bring Shiny every time, because if you don't they will know you do not have Extreme Speed before the fight! -> Your Crobat is the fastest non-Mega anyone has now that Nexus is dropping Accelgor for GOATcargo. Meaning that Scarfed Crobat will guarantee you outspeed every single unboosted Pokemon your opponents could bring until Week 4. -> Your walls are very weak to Toxic Spikes. Your Poison type also can't absorb them. The reason im saying this is because *everyone else has a dedicated Toxic Spike user!* Nihilego, Nidoking, Roserade, Drapion, Nidoqueen, Toxapex and Garbodor... all of these can set T-Spikes and are all on different teams. That also makes you the only one who doesn't have a T-Spike setter. I'm definitely rooting for you, good luck Nappy :D

Your team is actually terrifying in hard trick room

PSA (improving on Lakanus PSA), mostly talking about TR: - You have three trick room setters (or four, i'm not sure if Jirachi gets TR like Celebi/Victini), in Diancie/Slowking/Hoopa-U, and two, perhaps three, good abusers in Vikavolt, Tyranitar and Belly Drum Chesnaught, so you can actually run a TR team easily. And your team is kinda slow, outside of Jirachi/Mega Pidgeot/Crobat, so that can be an advantage. - Speaking of Diancie, TR LO diancie can hit decently hard. Everyone thinks on her like a wall, but she have 100 special attack, and power gem/earth power/moonblast. It's deceptively powerful (as powerful as Jirachi), and it's hard to switch-in (outside of the surprise factor). - Still Speaking of TR (it's my favorite style of play :v ), Slowking can have Oblivious. If your team is full TR, they will notice it. So Slowking having Oblivous to block Taunt is amazing for setting TR safely. - Don't forget that Crobat gets Nasty Plot. He is not a physical attacker per se, he have 80 base attack, and 70 special attack (If I'm not mistaken), and he can actually sweep teams with NP/Sludge Bomb/Air Slash/Heat Wave (or Giga Drain, I think crobat gets it), if you need.

I think a lot of the people got annoyed in UCL when coaches didn't know about the enemy team or even what their team did. Not because they're bad battlers. That shows a lack of effort to research your own and your opposition's team. Having said that though, it's still they're free to battle how they want, I don't mind. The main thing I want from the UCL, is good personalities and good commentary. Which what most of the UCL do very well at, that's their strength and why they are big youtubers.

If nappy utilizes trick room, he would have the scariest/best team in the league. His team in trick room is terrifying.

Nappy's draft can be described by two words: power and versatility.

Glad to see you back at wifi battling my boy, and glad to see the toxicity of S2 didn't totally turn you off from battling forever. Regarding your draft, you've got some real power behind it, especially from OU. With some team-building with Joey or someone, you could be MONSTROUS. Hoopa-U just vomits all over a lot of Pokemon (not as much as Kyurem-B but still) and I think it could be the leader of your team, like Manaphy to Joey. Jirachi offers a lot of versatility, but given the rest of your draft I feel like it'll be a wish cleric or bulky special attacker most of the time. Given your luck, maybe don't try to just paraflinch people haha. Tyranitar with dragon dance sweeps a lot of teams if you can get it set up, but there are a lot of options. Tyranitar is also massively bulky and has access to some surprising coverage. I'm rooting for you brother, and I think just from your OU draft alone, you've got a MONSTROUS team. Good luck!!

Just a few thoughts after the draft analysis that I think could help with the week 4 changes and the tier changes coming back around. Mega Venusaur is now UU. Mega Venusaur - mega pidgeot Cofag for chesnaught Zeraora for Ttar Mega Venu as you said fits perfectly with your team. It gives you a ground poison and it just pairs really well with things like swampert and jirachi. Zeraora with the loss of pidgeot gives you an extremely fast mon that can run adamant or modest almost every week, can really benefit from darkium z with some status z moves and can just fit really well with stuff you already have. Cofag would be another great defensive option and gives you trick room setter in addition to slowing which can benefit big time. Super excited to have the UCL back and I hope this doesn’t come across as me being too serious and negative. Good luck man I love you and the content you put out for us !

Tapu Fini isn't taking a Gunk Shot from Hoopa Unbound. Nothing switches in safely to this monster.

Okay so I will admit I haven't seen the video yet (obviously) but I wanted to give a bit of brain storming for next week's battle. Dragon Dance T-tar actually can do great against Twit because nothing on his team can switch in on Rock plus Dark stab at +1. His only true switch in would be eviolite Rhydon and you could run enough investment to his Sp Atk where Surf could surprise KO. Also, Mega Pidgeot can spam Hurricane just as freely and HP grass could again catch Rhydon off guard. Literally once it's gone both of these mons go ham. I know it's not that serious but just figured id give my two cents in case you decide to look for some inspiration in the comments

Lets not forget: Hoopa-U Gets Gunk Shot to take care of that Fini, banded Gunk Shot on Fini is not gonna tickle, also, Hoopa-U not only has 160 Attack but it also has 170 Special Attack, HP Steel/Poison for that fini or just litterally run *ANY HP ANY WEEK YOU NEED IT* Its truely a beautiful mon.

I love the drafting of Hoopa U. Literally only a handful of mons in the league switch in to an attack from a physical variant and can live the next hit (with no boosting item on Hoopa, only Celesteela, Suicune, Alomamola and Registeel should all live with correct investment and Milotic barely does with max investment in HP and def, Tapu Fini cannot swap into a Gunk Shot, Cresselia gets blown back by Hyper Spacefury or Knock Off). It'll be interesting to see how this team works out, because like you said, this team is rough. It's got good mons, but it's kinda all over the place. You do have a nice Trick Room option though.

I think your team is powerful. With the massive amount of Trick Room support you have with Jirachi, Slowking, Diancie and your abusers with Vikavolt, Chesnaught, and Hoopa-U your going ham. A set to think about in the future would be Weakness Policy Diancie so it can Trick Room, live any ground/ice/grass/water move, and use the 2× attack and special with its decent base 100 attack and special and run through with its decent movepool, even if its kinda situational it could do work against alot of the other teams this season. But, in the end, its all in fun. Hoping you pull up with the shits this season and put in work.

Nappy, I want to let you know that I'm super excited for this League! I recently joined a league of my own that I found on Reddit, and we had our week 2 battle yesterday. I absolutely love your mindset in creating leagues. I joined just to have fun, because that's what pokemon is to me. I like being competitive a little bit to see how I do, but winning isn't everything for me. Before week 1 of our league started, people voted for "power rankings" on our teams based on the competitive-ability and strategy. Ironically I did what you did and I picked what was available because I like them, not because it's necessarily going to be best for my team. They ended up grading me 11/12th place, which I for sure wasn't happy about, but do I care? Not at all. It's just a bunch of sweaty people talking trash on other teams. My goal for my league is to have as much fun as I can and prove to those sweaty guys that an average battler like me can make a world of difference, because I am your Friendly Neighbourhoood Average Pokemon Battler. I love doing competitive because it's been one of the very few things I picked up pretty quickly and became somewhat good at. If I did it to be the most competitive, it would just turn sweaty for me, so I want to show them that I can be good while not thinking about EVERY SINGLE LITTLE DETAIL on how a drafted team can possibly go. I'm just here to have fun, to do my best, and to give my opponents a run for their money. I'm SO determined to be the best average battler out there. Right now I'm 1-1, and both my battles were super close. Once again, I'm super excited to see the UCL this season while I carry out my own battles. I managed to get a lot of gen 1 and 2 POWER. I got that Mega T tar and Dragonite, Meganium, Omastar, Porygon2, Scyther, AND HOKAGE.

Nappy, if you get Primarina and use Liquid Voice, I don't recommend using Hyper Voice since it basically becomes a Surf that goes through Substitute and Scald is much better. If you're adamant about hitting something with a water move through Substitute, you can always use Sparkling Aria and you don't need to sacrifice Torrent for that. If you REALLY want to use Liquid Voice, hold a Metronome and Echoed Voice at max power can do 90% minimum to a Blissey if I remember correctly. I know I'm kinda jumping my gun right now since you don't even have a Primarina on your team at the moment, but I just wanted to tell you these things now in case I forgot in the future. I’m so excited for UCL S3!! Just a tip: Some week you should run Darkinium -Z on T-tar w a set up move like Swords Dance, D-Dance, or Rock Polish . Moveset could look like: Rock Slide, Crunch, Set-up move*, and maybe Low Kick or Fire Punch for the steel types.

Banded Entei with Sacred fire + stomping tantrum hits most of twits team. Couple that with special hoopa-u with dark pulse and thunderbolt and nothing can switch in to both effectively, and you still have 4 other mons to play around with. You also should have good hazard removal for sticky webs from a Galvantula. Twitter might not bring this, but swords dance nasty plot baton pass could be scary. Good luck for W1

Trick room is a really interesting idea and i great idea because slowking can set up and then chestnaut, vikavolt, hoopa, slowking, swampert, and tyranitar can be slow enough to be effective in a trick room and so mons that can help with when trick room goes down

I really hope this season goes smoothly so we can free it up to expand next season while keeping the fun semi-competitive feel. Definitely looking forward to seeing peeps like the South Beach Slowkings and whatever Luke's team was called

I just have 3 tips for you for league format. I play a lot of league games and I just wanted to give you three simple tips. Also I'm a big fan and I love your content #TucsonTerrakions 1.) For a OU/UU/RU/NU draft it's better to just draft a Steel, Fairy, Dragon core and Water, Fire, and Grass core in OU or UU because they have the best Pokemon for those typings imo. 2.) Running the most unconventional sets will have a really good outcome. Your opponent might not be expecting something like a LO Slowking with future sight. Also just because a team on paper looks bad doesn't mean it is, looks can be deceiving :) 3.) Have fun while playing and teambuilding, because if you stress and start being frustrated with the league it becomes more of chore than a game.

What I draw from this: Crobat/Swampert/Jirachi is an *excellent* defensive core. I am genuinely having difficulty thinking of a mon that was drafted that's just gonna punch through that. This should hold up really well and compliments a lot of your roster. Like you said, you have a very clear Trick Room team set up here with Hoopa, Slowking, Swampert, and Chesnaught. It's very good that you noticed that and drafted him, actually. All four are slow Pokemon that can do a *ton* of damage in a Trick Room. So it's good you recognized this. I think bringing these four with Jirachi and Crobat would be a decent lineup for you. Crobat finds a place on this team as your main fast mon, and you can use U-Turn to get a very advantageous switch in for Slowking, allowing him to set up his Trick Room. This lineup also leaves you with a switch in on everything, except Ghost. With hoopa's decent special defense, he can probably switch in, since most ghost attackers that were drafted have been special attackers. You can also likely swap out Swampert for Tyranitar if you feel this is too much of a concern, but this leaves Chesnaught as your only switch in on electric attacks. And with Tapu Koko running around I'd consider it very carefully. Lastly for this Trick Room lineup, Vikavolt, like you said, is slower than frozen dogshit. And therefore will outspeed everything with a base 145 special attack stat. And he has an item on top of it. I think this lineup will be your best bet in a lot of matches. Finally, if we look to build a team around Big Dishes, we can probably set something up nicely with Swampert and Slowking as well. Slowking and Swampert will be more than happy to take just about any hit that is meant for Big Dishes in general. From there, Dishes covers their glaring grass weakness insanely well. I love the pick of Flygon. Scrub has access to D-Dance now which it didn't have during season 1 UCL. This buff makes it a bigger threat than it was before. My favorite Dragon and excited to see what it does with the move pool buff it got in Gen 7 . I also like the Vikavolt pick it's got a high special attack which bug buzz and t-bolt can take advantage of that stat. The electric type being immune to ground is also really neat.
