@@Lotus_jacobaeus Not to the extent of partnering with the MLB, like with FanDual. Every game has the commercials, and it wasn't too long ago you never saw that. No excuses though, the rules are the rules, and the players know them. It's a stupid way to throw away you're career.
Good news and bad news. The bad news is that Tucupita Marcano has gotten a lifetime MLB ban for gambling. The good news is that he and the other MLB players who are in trouble for gambling can now start their own baseball team with Pete Rose as their manager. LOL
@Southernguy39 yes. Big market team and he's helping bring in a global audience. But I believe he is still guilty to some degree and he should be held to the same standard as everyone else
What are these pro sports leagues are expecting, years ago it was a beer commercial now its gambling every commercial break. Two things that humans have high addictions too. These pro sports leagues are in bed with these companies and then fine or suspend these athletes when they are caught using them. There needs to be education at the beginning of the players careers or at the beginning of every season because some people get addicted easily, whether it is alcohol/substance abuse or gambling. Not to mention the everyday fan, that is bombarded with these commercials, I've heard stories that people who have had gambling issues in the past that had to give up watching sports because of the temptation of these commercials.
Not a shred of proof he told the guy to bet for him. Now does it look like that is what happened? Yes but wothout proof nothing they can do. I guarantee you he is under a fine microscope
Rose did it to himself. He knew he was being investigated and did nothing to protect himself. Mlb does not want the mob or organized crime to be in control again. Look at the points shaving scandal in basketball. Baseball has enough problems without adding too it.
@@charlesdoyle3630 Yeah I agree gambling is a waist of time and money it can cost you everything you've worked so hard on and it can tarnish your legacy
I believe I heard the analyst in the video say that having a family member or friend bet for you is also illegal. There may be a way for them to trace the money moving between the individuals because almost no one does hand to hand money transactions anymore.
A lifetime ban for gambling. That's what happens. He knew the rules. He should've been smarter and committed a lesser offense that doesn't carry a lifetime ban like taking steroids or beating your wife or girlfriend.
So since MLB can have an injury report for an accurate points spread, but players can't place bets? How about this, if MLB can't prove a player "threw" a game, then no charge. Let Pete Rose in the HOF. If it ain't fair, then make gambling illegal again, and MLB dissolve "multiple year" deal partnership with FanDuel.
Is it really? Every clubhouse, henhouse and outhouse has Rule 21 posted. You'd think that Pete Rose lifetime ban would be a deterrent, but alas it's not. I guess being the all time leader in MLB hits means something more than a scrub on 3 teams in 3 years? 🤡
You know what your comment here is racist and your account should be banned permanently from RU-vid. I don’t find your comment very funny in fact it’s very offensive to me and to others. I’m reporting you for your racist comments and offensive comments on others.
Hadn’t even played this year and was a .217 hitter in a handful of games for SD and PTS the last three years. You’d think Ohtani had been given a ban, the way this story’s being reported.
He bet on games while he was injured and on games he didn’t appear in? But yet Otani had someone betting on his games he played, with noticeable changes in performance and he still is playing. I call BS
