great heads, but pricey. I know Ranch fairy doesn't put a lot of stock in your type testing, but I am sure secretly that he was pleased to see they did well, LOL. Great job as always
@@yourmomma2995 I like his channel and the logic is sound, but with all things get as much knowledge as you can and balance whats most important to you.
Yeah he literally clowned Lusk and people alike who do tests like this on the video he just posted. I think tests like this are good for what they’re worth, and that’s for comparison.
@@andrecancilla4901 Way back when I was always getting complaints saying my tests don't show what a head will do in an animal. I would always agree, but then explain that if a head does well in my tests, or even better now, John's, they will preform on game. Heads that don't do well may work on game under most conditions, but now all. I love both channels and learn all I can from each.
Awesome, I've been waiting for this one. The last time you did tuffhead evolution it was before they changed the angle and it was at 20°. Now at the 28° thanks to your video and other people mentioning it, it should be even better.
These are the heads I used last year whitetail hunting. Went three for three. All with the same shaft and broadhead. Very happy with how they performed.
Beautiful design and performance. The cut through steel with the blood ring was truly nasty. The energy of the impact against the concrete was impressive. The edge holding and toughness are fantastic. It's hard to beat this type of performance. Just a little too pricey for me as I always buy 2 sets (hunting & practice/back up) and that would be over $300.00 with the blood ring. My 1st 3 bows (I bought my 1st in 1980) were all far less than $300.00
Maybe the gold standard for bow hunting hogs. At least thats the way it looks from where I am sitting. Thank you for all of your amazing testing Mr. Lusk.
So I’m just curious who wins between VPA, Cutthroat and Tuffheads? Battle of the S7 single bevels? Maybe get Innovative Outdoorsman to sharpen them all first?
@@LuskArcheryAdventures I actually went back to watch your VPA 2 blade battle and was comparing numbers to this video. Although they weren’t the S7. The steep angle on the VPA had over 40 degrees of rotation in bare gel.
It seems like the blood ring/bleeders/etc. slow down the rotation of the arrow after impact. I’ve always been somewhat skeptical on bleeder type blades on single bevel broadheads
They are single bevel as well, so as not to slow it down. In other testing, I've not seen a decrease in rotation with bleeders, if they are single bevel as well.
Is this the same BH as the Ranch Fairy's without his name on it? Same angles, etc.? Either way it did very well, I might use them next fall on a elk trip w/ the bleeders.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures Okay so that will not change your test at all. I sent you some Grizzly Stick BH's to test also. Thanks again for all of your time you put into this
Do you mean the scores of all the broadhead tests? I have a spread sheet that was posted in the last vid of 2022, summarizing all the scores of all the heads tested in 2022. I don’t have that for 2023 yet, but you can see the scores of each head in each video description.
Were these sent by the manufacturer or donated by a viewer? The Tuffheads I bought last year were so dull and poorly machined they probably couldn’t have cut butter. I’ve ordered some other broadheads based on your reviews that were sharp for you and very dull out of the package for me.
ill never buy another tuffhead, was real excited about them, ended up bending a ferrel on a bear i shot, called them about it to see about the defect and they were so rude and told me what had happend was impossible. It caught me off gaurd, but for the best it led me to better quality broad heads, and more importantly better customer service.
I use as many different heads as I can. When one tests well for me, I like to try it in the field. So many excellent choices. For a mech, my go to is a Sevr for sure. For a fixed, a lot more choices, depending on the animal I’m hunting and the shot distance I’m expecting. Exodus, Tooth of the Arrow, Iron Will, Trifecta Fixed, Dead X Bowhunting, Zeus Hera, Method MD3-and so many more have all worked well for me.
@@montuckyman4982 Not all but most do as some look different with odd bleeders that look like something for small game mechanical but static or have mechanical bleeders like the small game mechanical head.
