I said this before on another channel, but Army Ant Majors boost the damage of nearby melee units (ants), making them really powerful with swarms of weaker melee ants since the damage is applied to all of them. However, they do not boost ranged damage and are weaker than Leafcutter Majors (at least when it comes to stats). This means that they should not be used with ranged ants, since that makes the cost of the major more of a burden than a blessing. Edit: Don't get me wrong, though - they're really powerful. Just gotta do a little math to see them at their best.

the middle challenge: only use ants in the middle row: including: trap-jaw leaf cutter major army ant and slave maker

When I did this the ai decided to go mass ranged. So it quickly turned into whoever has more ranged units wins

Yeah, ranged units need a nerf. Really, they do.

@@SweetBrazyN If a melee weapon does more outright damage (which it should for balance reasons) it will have an equal chance in victory.

Im very late, however, i think the cheap wood ant unit is good against range as they are tanks instead of normal attackers
