This is original Indian Music. Even Qawalli is entirely based on Indian Classical Music. She is a vocal godness. Not to sound condesending but I challenge any top female singer from the around world, including Beyonce, Adele, Rihanna and the like to have a one on one with Shreya. Indian Classical Music is so much more deep and has some much more dynamic range that not many can master this art, but Shreya has. Just singing in High notes and throwing a Vibrato is not a definition of a great singer by the way. You should listen to her other songs too. She can perform Vocal Gymnastics like no one else alive today. Similarly, Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan just to name a few are the male equivalents who can take down any top Male singer from around the world. It is also because they have mastered in the Indian Classical Music which is older than any civilization living or dead. I am not being arrogant, I am just presenting the facts. I listen to the music from all around the world even when I do not understand the language as I live for Music.

You kind of hit the nail on the head. While her song isn’t a prayer in itself she sings about seeing god in someone ( ideally the loved one) I like researching lyrics :) an because it’s from a movie that has a lot to do with faith the lyrics are accordingly fit. Fun fact, Shreya is a backup singer, a famous and extraordinary one having a huge portofolio in backup singing for several of the finest and famous Hindi movies . They call her the nightingale of India. Some of my favorite songs by her are sun raha hai --from the movie Ashiqui 2 there is a male version by Arijit Singh another amazing singer !!! (Look into his work too you’d love it he is a powerhouse tooo!! On the same level as her and Shreya‘s female version of this song is divine ! Mere dhol na Devaani mastani - from the movie Bajirao Mastani Nagada sang dhol from the movie Bajirao Mastani These are only a few from her huge repertoire💫 And this particular snippet you listend to is also from a movie just search for the whole song called ( Thujme Raab Dikta Hai from the movie Raab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which is mainly sung by a male backup singer Roop Kumar Rathod I believe ) towards the end of the song in the movie Shreya comes in with this two minute god sent part, she is heavenly makes my heart warm and breaks it every time she does those runs. No this is not the whole song...it's like a small extract from the song...and its not a prayer either...in most Indian songs, the chorus lines are repeated quite a few times

this song is from a Movie (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi/A match made in heaven) in 2006, it's one of my favourite movies, and a section in the song repeats, "I see the God in you, Dear, what i'm going to do (like, 'how am i going to accept such a gift') and what's in between these repeats explains why/how that I see the God in you (what good things in you that remind me of the God). this is a timeless masterpiece...
