I enjoy the series. But it really sanitized and romanticized the buisness. With all extortion and money laundering. Which is why Dwight is visiting all the cash friendly businesses.

It's not a serious show. It has elements of seriousness but it's lighthearted. A throw back to Friday night and Saturday broadcast tv shows

not american but my understanding is that while at the state level weed is largely ether legal or decriminalized at the federal level its still illegal there for if the regular cops came hes fine but if federal cops came they could take everything same if he put the money in the bank as that can have federal complications

I found out about this show at halftime of a football game. Great show! Mayor of Kingstown starring Jeremy Renner is also amazing. And the fact he came back to film after his accident is epic 😁

Yes it is true about them confiscating the cash. And it is hard to find banks that will do business with dispenseries because banks fall under federal jurisdiction not state.

From what I heard The reason the second season wasn’t shot in Oklahoma is cuz they couldn’t handle the Oklahoma weather lol Makes sense One minute you feel like you’re standing on the sun, the next minute you’re drowning in a flood or being blown away by a tornado Would never want to live anywhere else though

I’m from Missouri right above Oklahoma where weed is also legal and it’s all cash because the banks refuse to hold any of the weed money. You can buy with a card but it’s got a crazy fee attached.

when I was watching this episode, I recognized the woman from the one-night stand, Andrea Savage. she has her own show, Sorry, a comedy, that I like, too. also got a subscription to Paramount+ just to watch Tulsa King (and the Twilight Zone), too. Romans 10: 9-10.

Great series. Season 2 should be coming soon. Can't wait. Sly said he was reluctant to take on this venture because he's tired of being away from his family so often during his career, but his wife and daughters supported him for this project so he said, aw heck, I'll do it.

I don’t think walking into the dispensary thing was to do with tax evasion, it was just walking into a store and saying “You pay me now, or I’ll break the bones in your foot.” And clearly not quite getting that it’s a legal store that has a safe on site and deposits at the bank daily like most stores.

He definitely has tax invasion going on though. Most dispensaries do. The people buying the weed pay the state or federal taxes daily. Which gives free reign to most small businesses like that to get away with "sales" or "discounts". Off the books sales happen more than people realize. But in case you haven't seen the show, we'll just wait a few more episodes for everyone to realize what he saw on the computer screen
