I'm in a bind this year. I'm a long time supporter of the Democratic Party who can no longer in good conscience support any Democratic candidate. But I really just can't bring myself to pull the lever for Trump, who is dangerously erratic and self-serving, prone to seeking exactly the same kind of petty political retribution of which he is supposed to be the target. I was thinking of just sitting out this election, as much as it galls me to do so. But, you know, if Tulsi were on the GOP ticket as VP, that might almost be enough to get me to reconsider.

The fact that we have not been able to get rid of either should show everyone that Democracy is pretty much dead or dying. I mean, when Tulsi ran, there were 21 (22?) Democratic candidates. On the other hand, Trump's recent charges are about ongoing and recent criminal activities, including tax fraud, obstruction of justice, and campaign finance violations. These are current legal issues, not settled history. Deflecting to Clinton doesn't change the fact that Trump is facing serious charges right now. Instead of deflecting, why not address the actual legal issues at hand? Bringing up Clinton is just an attempt to muddy the waters and distract from Trump's very real and very current legal troubles.
I have never experienced any sort of disdain for our government until these past three years. The level of distrust I have developed for this administration, the government at large, the mainstream media, the FBI and the DOJ is so profound I cannot accurately put it all into words.

I met Tulsi two years ago in Virginia. I’m a Reagan Republican. Tulsi was quite personable and exceptionally sharp. She gets it and I admire her consistency. I don’t always agree with her, but I respect her a lot.
