Mick Taylor was the perfect match for the Stones. Such a great lead guitarist. Very fluid, melodic style of playing. Often imitated, never quite duplicated.

Thanks for this great lesson! The best Stones lineup of all time. You can see Taylor's magnetic stage presence during the solos. As compared to Mick, Keith just humbly held the guitar.

Mick Taylor was the best. He intimidated Keith with his guitar prowess. They were a perfect fit, perhaps that's why he never made it big outside the Stones.

I love how Mick Taylor's brand of "weaving" with Keith is a lot of work to prop up Keith's lead-riffs, but banking off his riffs and playing with them... which he also does... but he dances around Keith and like Keith said about Taylor, "could really READ a song". Taylor was the best guitarist for Keith, and that's that. opposites attract for me.

Are all the Taylor parts in standard tuning? Thanks for the video, im tryin to put together tumbling dice for one guitar. Not sure if i should tune to open G or do it standard, to get more of the soloing in. Or try and do some of the solo in open G

Why does the 4th fret pent work better for this song than 9th B pent 1which would be Bm? Is it because the 4th fret is major and works over the songs chords?

This song is played in B major. I think the shape of Ab minor pentatonic scale 6th string root (B Major pentatonic scale) is easy to play. 🎸

THE STONES needed a guitar god when, in 1969, Brian was fired and they found themselves without The Beatles and surrounded by a "new" era of guitar gods, Hendrix, Beck, Clapton etc, and thus needed their own guitar god... there is NO WAY a Ron Wood fun-with-Keith guy would have worked during that era when a complete virtuoso was needed to put them into the number one statosphere and to make their concerts shine...
