I'm 54 years old and have never seen this in my life on television. WHY?? This is the most enjoyable thing to watch over most of the other sport events. Thank God for RU-vid because mainstream TV networks don't cover anything but the same old stuff. Regardless of the springy floor, it's still fun to watch!
For some reason, power tumbling isn’t in the olympics. It has been before so I guess you could watch old clips of it but apparently there’s too many gymnastics revolving sports in the olympics there just isn’t room for power tumbling😭
Unbelievable.... I mean there is no way a persons equalibrium wouldn't be effected by the number of spins these ladies do and at incredible speeds... The fact that none of them go sprawling at the landing is really amazing. Just awesome
Honestly you get used to it. They’re brains have been reprogrammed through years of practice not to pay attention to the fluid jostling around in their Eustachian tubes
@@SignalCorps1 fr! I used to do taekwondo and we would spend hours doing spinning kicks and now after not practicing for years of I doubt supone to fast when someone calls me i automatically get dizzy
@@chaboi7 Same. I was a gymnast and studied martial arts, including TKD, for about 15 years. Now I’m older and having bee doing this for a long time and would kill myself if I attempted something as simple as a back handspring or any spinning kick.
I've known some gymnast that have been injured and this is a dangerous sport, these girls put their lives on the line doing these tumbles and some of the other crazy things they do, much respect.
@@amazingusername8925 To watch someone flipping through the air onto a surface of any kind (even a sprung floor) and say that there is no risk of injury is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. Wouldn't want you as a coach.
@@mikeyswift2010honestly some people just spit things out and hope it makes sense - having said that you are absolutely right one wrong move and they could easily snap their necks!
These girls are great ! I have alot of respect for them . There is no way i could do any of that. How they dont fall after they get to end is amazing !!
It's because the mats are filled with the ankle cartilage of the ones who didn't make it to the finals. Tradition that goes back to the ancient Greek days, from what I've been told.
@@fantasyluvr Yeah, you have a lot of time down there in Arctic, don't you Ms. Holguin? Was that number influenced by sig figs? Maybe you, not me, meant 999,999,999,999,999.99999999999?
Just Jameka Sorry it took a year for me to see this video and your comment. Totally agree, I am in awe. No matter how many times I watch this I can't believe they are actually doing this! They are amaaaaazing!
I'm in awe of the first move and before I can even comprehend the second one they do an even more impressive 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th move. My eyes can't even keep up!
I coach gymnastics in a tiny town in Italy. I can't verbally explain explosive energy. It just doesn't compute. Hopefully this video will get my message across. It doesn't get any more explosive than this. Brave ragazze!
Show de TALENTOS, Mulheres voadoras, que leveza, que sutileza, estão de parabéns, que nossas Brasileiras cheguem nesse nível e elas são muito cspazes, nodsas Brasileiras São guerreiras
@@presentalinkwalterbak2426 LOL Iike Really? I got an Olympic Gold Medal in Gymnastics. 1500 meter run. 100 meter sprint. Steeple Chase. What's your sport? Curling???☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
someone on a forum explained it to me (I'm not totally sure how true but it does make sense) Basically this sport is under the gymnastics umbrella (it's governed by the same body), so for this sport to be in the Olympics they would have to take from gymnastics and less athletes would be able to compete for gymnastics at the Olympic level. Since gymnastics is a very popular Olympic sport, that won't happen. It is really cool to watch I agree!
Carolin Letterer in fact for a lot of beginners when they begin tumbling and adding 5/6 and more flip they have headaches :) ! You just need time and repetition to be cool with these long routines :)
2:15 I'm crying because I could see the burning intensity on her face leading up to the jump and it's magnificent when you're confident in something what you can accomplish without even realizing it or knowing it. Humans are amazing and also very strange. You can actually see the moment she told herself not to hold back by any means and fully embrace giving it her all and even though it was only for a few seconds I find it incredibly beautiful.
