Ms. Talli Faye I just recently found your channel and you had me not only for your great recipes and shortcuts but the first thing to really get my attention was when you opened your mouth and spoke. That accent made me feel so much at home in your kitchen. I live in NC and have had so many people comment that I was “country as cornbread” when they first heard me speak. That was years ago and many comments away and I’ve come to feel proud to be country. Thank you so much for your channel. Your recipes are great but just listening to you talk such a comfort. I’m 70 and only cook 1 meal a day and I ed tried se real of yours and have not been disappointed.

I have old cook books from garage sales that date back to the 50’s and they have that kind of stuff in them…I saw the pic and said right away thats a tuna cake….lol….its really getting hot up here in suburbs of Northeast Ohio[i’m about 25min from lake Erie] 90’s and up w heat and humidity heat index up to the 100’s. I think I’m going to make that for fun and a chuckle for my daughter and me. I was down in Texas back in the 80’s, flew down to San Antonio and then drove down to Del Rio. Loved Texas, it was nice, people are just real. Keep up the food. I made 2 different tomato pies, 1 crust was regular pie crust, the second was done w a tube of a tube of biscuit dough, filling was the same. They were both really good. Did you ever make a ‘Green Tomatoes Cake’ made 2 of them a couple yrs. Back and those were really good and I got that recipe from a 93 yr old client [I’m a hair tech]. I hadn't though of this in years! It's definitely a retro recipe! My mother used to make it at Christmas for her finger food buffets. She cooked her big holiday dinner for Christmas Eve, then on Christmas Day, we just ate leftovers and finger foods. She's set out a whole sideboard full of finger foods, cheese, crackers, cold cuts, chips, dips, etc. Everyone would just sort of graze as they wanted to. Same for her Super Bowl parties, bridge, pinochle and domino nights. Thanks for sharing your recipe and bringing back some fond memories of my sweet, beautiful mother.
This reminds me of a sandwich loaf a friend would make for different functions. She would make a ham salad, a chicken salad and a tuna salad. She would spread these on white, wheat and rye bread that she bought at the bakery cutting the breads horizontally. I seem to remember she spread a cream cheese recipe similar to yours on the stacked layers. Now this memory is over 35 years old and I don't think I still have her recipe but I do remember it was really good and always disappeared quickly.

I am not trying to overwhelm you my darling girl. JoJo here. I lost my precious/painful bosoms in 2016 to cancer. I love that you are in all pink today. You don't have to respond to everyone, or anyone - that is so overwhelming!! I literally got cancer because I could not say "NO" to anyone. Especially my mother 😂 - but now I know. We ALL know that you love and appreciate us. You are frigging precious and teaching me/us how to COOK!! And most importantly - not be scared of the cooking. I love you so much. I'm gonna try that tomato pie - heck, I am in menopause... anything with cheese is my best friend. I LOVE you. And I mean that.
Same here. God has worked my body and soul from the inside out. I would never had known just in a short 5yrs how bad my health had declined. I just went for a simple health checkup because I hadn't been feeling too good and was immediately admitted into the hospital. I had 3 main arteries that supply blood too and from my heart 100% blocked and closes and my 4th was 95% blocked. I was a walking miracle and was diagnosed with "the widow maker". My heart surgeon said I should have gone to sleep and passed or had a major and fatal heart attack. I came through it great and was up the next day walking even just a little in the ICU (Thanksgiving morning 2018) . I remember praying and begging for HIM to let me live and during my week long stay in the ICU I had a warm but loving heat come over me from my toes upto my head. I felt GOD'S love and grace all over me. Sorry,I this is so long. I just have a testimony to share because if you had all known me back then,I was a workaholic. Baking EVERYTHING from scratch in a 5 star hotel. Today I am alive,full of love and joy again but it did disable me(heart surgery). I'm living proof,there is NO WAY I would had made it without Jesus. I thank HIM everyday that HE wakes me to live another day. Anyway,again,I'm sorry but your comment touched me so much I felt a blessing to say my testimony. May God bless each and everyone of you and restore you from any ailments or struggles in your life. Trust in the lord. HE IS VERY REAL.

You do know how to say thank you, and you did it. Those two simple words, thank you, are enough and usually the best way to do it. When people try to complicate a thank you, they usually mess it up. This recipe looks great. I usually prefer my tuna on toasted bread, I'd try this in a heartbeat. Appreciate you, your videos, and your approach to live. Thank you!
Never thought I would ever see this recipe again. Thank you so much. I made this 70 years ago with my mom when she would entertain her ladies club. We sliced a whole loaf of bread lengthwise In thirds. We also made the loaf with different combinations of egg salad, chicken salad and ham salad. For dessert we would frost vertical chocolate cookies iced in whipped cream.

Hello Mrs. Talli Faye,I am a subscriber and have been a silent watcher. I'm also an experienced cook and an even more experienced baker. I've been disabled since 2018 when I had to have a surprised quadruple heart bypass that put a halt to doing lots of cooking and baking for weddings,birthdays,etc and I miss it something bad. So,I know you have said before you aren't a baker but will do small things for the holidays,etc. So, Mrs. TALLI, I have a challenge for you to bake a cake,from scratch,frosting and all. If you can make cornbread and biscuits you can make a cake from scratch. As you say,"don't be scared" I say go for it. I bet you can do it and if you know how then record a video of you baking girl. I've never seen you make a cake but I'm sure you can and do. I would just like to see a video. Anyways, I'm from Chattanooga,TN but live in Ringgold,Ga and more or less just saying hello and I enjoy your channel. Your personality and good heart comes through on your channel as well. I agree,if you have Jesus in your heart then you are and will be always loved and a caring soul and you are. 40 yrs ago a friend of mine made same cake but divided in 1/4ths Chicken salad, tuna salad, and ham salad and egg salad. She made it for baby and bridal showers and she couldn’t keep up she was so busy:)she cut the crusts off before she assembled it.
I looked the difference on the Internet. Frosting is thick and spreadable with a base that is made with a fat such as butter, cream cheese or cream and it is fluffy. Icing is thinner than frosting but not quite as thin as a glaze. Typically made with powdered sugar and liquid such as water, milk or juice. Icing can be drizzled or spread and icing has more shine and smoother consistency than frosting. Glaze is the shiniest of them all, glazes are usually translucent and poured over desserts or tarts in the bakery case, donuts etc. and glazes are typically sugar and a liquid or heated jam. I just call it whatever pops out of my mouth at the time and it’s all good!

She told me her grocery list that she had just bought yesterday and almost everything about it was seafood stuff and she had bought several cans of tuna and she said I’m going to make that it looks great!
