The current Tundra gets knocked on for MPGs all the time, appropriate if you only use it as a daily commuter. But if you use it like it was intended - to tow heavy loads for long distances, it still offer impressive MPGs and range that other half tons just can't reach.
As I show in this video, even at high altitudes, it performs better than expected for a naturally aspirated engine. It probably performs better than most forced induction (turbo) gasoline engines in any current half ton and likely outperforms the next generation Tundra if the predicted V6 Twin Turbo 3.5L is accurate.
