New generation honda with a piece of crap suspension system can never beat old generation ef, eg ,ek civics, and they are amazingly well in tight turns, even an FR cars will have a hard time battling them on track or touge.
No, the FD2R's Suspension is pretty well set up. Only trouble is because these days, Hondas are more interested in making Saloons rather than Hot Hatches like they used to, modern-gen Hondas have became more heavier with a longer wheelbase and probably wider body.
Kay Zaki Wong Actually it's because those olders cars are usually tuned a bit more with more weight reduction. EK9's and EG6's get stripped out... while with newer Honda's I guess they are less likely to be stripped out. I guess people are more reluctant in stripping out a newer car.
Yes it would. Especially considering that EK was track-prepped unlike other cars in the field (most were either demo or personal cars, like Keiichi's NSX for example).
reving the motor that high is not necessary. .for example cars on dyno. .if u guys notice dyno sheets say 200hp at 8000 rpm. .then theres no point reving a motor pass 8000, cause the max power comes at 8000. .
maybe the reason he doesnt "redline" is because the engine was bored out...in other words it has a stroker kit, therefore the redline was reduced, but bottom end torque increased......probably
maybe the car is tuned to produce more power at the rpm range? after all this vid isnt full without specs to whats the cars torque and horsepower and stuff
@dc2rSpoon - The DC2 has a cross-ratio gear set and doesn't need to redline because the close ratios don't allow the revs to drop below the engines peak power range.
RG-O should have won both races...both times he advanced 1 spot, and both times he made a mistake which cost him another spot, so in a nutshell he could have had at least a chance to pass Keiichi in DC5 and/or hold his spot against Keiichi in NSX.
From my point of view, the DC2 driver Orido shifts up around 8k rpm because of it's crossed mission (very closed ratio gearings). The car is suppose to run and maintain in the power band without touching 9k rpm. Making it run fast and match a heavier modified engine. Even though it looks like the reving is fast, the downsizes are the driver will need to shift up like crazy, which is distracting, especially when the ratios doesn't seemed to match this track. Power can't follow through smoothly.
