That's the entire point of zelda style games. So you look in every corner to find secrets...rather than just get them handed to you in easy mode. If you don't like hidden paths and secret areas, maybe don't play this style of game.

All you need is the scavengers mask card to stop the damage from the purple stuff. its in the cathedral. For the part with the three gunners i found that you can grab them from the lower ledge and kill them all there.

I didn’t get the scavengers mask until the quarry and had to do a mad dash to open the gate.

it´s the dash, it´s obtained like after u got the 3 keys, and do some stuff
