Tips and tricks for installing a Vintage Vibe amplifier board into a 206a Wurlitzer EP, tuning and voicing the keys, replacing the speakers, oiling the action parts, and more. I got this 206a Wurlitzer from the facebook marketplace, and it was in good condition but the amplifier was broken. When turned on, the speakers would buzz terribly and no keys could be heard through them. So I bought the Vintage Vibe amplifier and began installing it, and in this video I show you how I did it! Afterwords, I install new speakers, and go through each key to make sure they're all playing optimally. By the end, the electric piano is fully restored and sounding great!

I would always turn the instrument off while you work on the tines or pickups. There's static voltage between the tines and the pickups, and shortening them can damage the amplifier.

This Piano Rocks & I think the Piano part of Light in the Hallway by PTX arranged by Roger Emerson (from the SATBB voicing) would sound amazing on this instrument because the Metal tines give it a Magical kind of sound.

Never EVER use contact cleaner on those potentiometers! It’ll dry out the wipers in the pot and wreck it over time. ALWAYS use Deoxit F5 fader lube. This should be obvious yet thousands of professional techs still use contact cleaner because it works …. Until it doesn’t.

Are those reeds actually producing a tone or are they just used to electronically strike the 'note' (and I guess give you piano style strike and sustain mechanics for free) I guess what I mean, is the frequency they vibrate with part of the tone generation or just the amplitude?

The metal reeds do produce the tone, even when the piano is turned off you can still play it a listen to the reeds vibrate. They're like tuning forks in a way. And if they're out of tune then that can be corrected by either adding or removing solder.
