Recorded in June 2020 during the lock-down period.
« Hamsa » means 5 in Arabic. This figure also represents the
celebrated « Hand of Fatma », symbolising the struggle against the forces of evil.
This good luck gesture is made at the end of the piece by all the performers.

I find myself returning to this piece often, it gives me motivation to pick up the guitar and practice especially because it was recorded during the lockdown when I didn't feel very well and a lot of concert plans had to be canceled. The great Dyens must have experienced this ancient symbol in a very intimate way to create such a genuinely middle-eastern atmosphere. Also this arrangement is some of the best works using and re-iterating a single motive. Bravo!

this is so cool!!!!!!!! Maestro Navez does not stop. Not even lockdown slows him down. I am very happy to have coincided with this project and with the music of the great R. Dyens. I'm also happy to see many friends playing together. Congratulations to all!
