Here is my quick translation of what Tuomas says at around 0:55 "As the greatest friend of grandiosity this was perhaps the best thing ever I have gotten to try. The feeling is incomparable, it is the finest sound that keyboards can make. I am dumbfounded and this isn't the last of it." Sorry if the translations isn't 100% spot on, but the general idea should be there. Hmmm.. .wonder if there was some sort of clue of what the next NW album contains? ;)
Sometimes you can just see the wheels in his head spinning. Oh to be inside his brain for even just a moment. On the flip side though it must be difficult to create along side him in the studio. With genius comes perfectionism. Floor is a perfectionist so she must understand but even she has said recording Nightwish songs are challenging. To be a fly on the wall in the studio!
Awww he's so happy he got to do that. As one of my pipe dreams is to one day hear Nightwish cover Queen, I could have listened to that Show Must Go On bit a lot longer. ♥
I think Queen has have an important influence on Tuomas. Like Queen, Tuomas, and Nightwish, approach every detail in a very professional manner. There are quite a number of similarities between the two bands. Tuomas/Freddy as writers. Floor/Freddy who seem modest off stahe but thrive on stage. No cocky attitudes, but polite. And every detail of the show is rehersed.
I have said exactly the same on another Nightwish video! Queen and Nightwish are my top two all time favourite bands. I would have given my soul to hear Freddie and Floor sing together live❤️
@@snickypoo The only difference, in my opinion, is that Freddy was very dynamic on stage. He made sure every corner of the stadium had a good time. Floor is a bit static (centralized) on stage.
The church I went to with my family growing up had an organ and on Christmas Eve the organist would add a little “flare” to the music. It’s hard to describe other than to say she played it with more “epicness” and I’ve yet to find anything quite like it on the internet.
They've used Philharmonic Orchestras and great Choirs to provide backup sound to some of their works. It doesn't take much imagination to think that an organ work composed by Tuomas won't soar from the sound system at some future concert. I can hardly wait!
Pretty sure he sang in a few songs on the first album but after that pretty much vowed tk never sing again although I may have my facts mixed up with something else
I have heard several magnificent cathedral organs live in Germany - they are incredible sounding, and incredibly complex to play. Props, absolutely makes sense the Metal Mozart can so easily play one!! Respect, Mr Holopainen.
I know you will be so amazed and shocked to get a text from me but trust me it's nothing to me... I'm having a good time and that's why i replied you, thanks for your support and kind words. I will like to keep in touch with you.
first song he is playing- The heart asks for pleasure first. Second song: Queen- The show must go on. Third: Phantom of the Opera- I guess?? Fourth- Nightwish - Scaretale. Did i get it right? Or did i missed one?
@@ollytherock7324 This might be one of those cases that... they would just invent a new instrument for Tuomas to see the magnitude to it. Like the not direct translation of the this video, but he enjoyed that so much and loves the atmosphere of the organ, like to a now level. Making it more epic to play. One of the greatest things he has had, to play that. Just like a little kid loving his Christmas toy so much. :)
@@ollytherock7324 The funny thing is he actually says in this video - you will hear about this afterwards' :) He got some idea... He said that after he had praised the instrument, how magnanimous, pompous, grandious etc. they are - he was quite taken, that there is no grander sound (one extreme way to interpret that is that there ain't no more megalomaniac sound as that).
This proves some of his work might prove better on organ. No way they're going on tour with an organ though. It just makes one wonder what he could do with a Hammond organ, though. I think it'd be awesome. (Also, The show must go on!)
@@oo.llpee.7457 That's a bit questionable statement.. I mean sure we all can sing, some of us just sound horny bullfrogs and sadly Tuomas is in that gatecory 😁 amazing composer! Singer not so much.

That last note, the last second of this clip, sooooo deeeep. You cannot get that out of a normal keyboard. Love this clip. He should have lots of other chances to play a church organ. :)

@@tuomasholopainen1030 hello Tuomas, thx for your personal reaction. I am a nightwish fan. I have sung in a Church choir. That s why i love to listen also to church organs. As it is i am on holiday now and my family is Just on the break of going to restaurant and waiting for me. Sorry, Talk to you soon again. Have nice evening....still in awe in the meantime!!!!
@@tuomasholopainen1030hi Tuomas, glad you have a good time, you really deserve it since you are giving millions of people a good time with your amazing music,.especially the recent 2 digital concerts. Not only NW but also AURI and a lot more. You're therefore a very public person, everybody knowing so much about you. No wonder you want some feedback from your fans, who are they. I am a Dutch woman of 57 with a husband and 2 adult daughters. Doing fulltime officework. Music is a great escape. There is so much music in the world, lacking the time to listen to all of it, so have to choose carefully. Before there was NW there has been other music considering my age. But since there have been lockdowns due to Covid, i enjoy watching other people react to NW and discovering your music. Human:II:Nature has been and is the perfect album for this Day and age. These difficult times the world is going through. But not only the Human but more important the Nature itself, the Earth. I hope we humans will take good care of it. Thank you for your music and making people aware. Wish you a lifetime of good health together with your loved ones and lots of more inspiration. Lots of love from the Netherlands.
@@vero9177 Thank you so much Vero, sorry for the late reply i was busy a lot of social gathering have been going on so it's hard for me to always come to my RU-vid account, i saw the message you dropped so how is your family hope they are doing great? Vero i would like to keep in touch with you from time to time and also share some ideas with you. if you don't mind send me your gmail.
If he ever makes it to the States anytime soon again, there is an absolutely Epic one in Chicago that Rob Scallon did a video on. I'd love to see Tuomas unleashed on that monster!
Have you ever heard the song "Parallels" by Yes? On that one Rick Wakeman plays all the keyboard parts on the Lucerne Cathedral organ. Must have sounded epic in the cathedral itself when they were recording it!
Emppu master of guitar, Jukka master of drums, Marco master of bass and Tuomas master of Piano. And music genius! They made NW to the greatest symphonic band there is and my childhood first metal band ever listen to :D Tuomas like a magician that never sease to amazing people. is there any song he can't play on piano? Prob nothing. I feel like Tuomas should have his own theme park where he will play imaginaerum every day. Would be awesome.
he be a pretty fella and a wicked good keyboardist

@@tuomasholopainen1030 I thank you for the answer. I prefer two types of music. Classical, especially organ pieces, and metal. And as a Nightwish and Organ fan to see you play a little on the organ ... I love your work and I wish you and Nightwish all the best. Greetings from Germany, maybe I can experience Nightwish live in Berlin this year :)

I am 100% confident that you will enjoy this band,,, Don't forget to sip... not slurp...
Oh yes, Poets of the Fall, my favorite band! They are as good live as in studio, but the official video of Carnival of Rust is so awesome that it's worth checking.

I really love the sound of organs, but people tend to play such boring pieces on them... not Tuamos though. I'd love to hear a lot more of what he can do with that instrument!
